Need suggestions for Toyota Land Cruiser HJ60 (also called as KHAR cruiser)

I own a Toyota Land Cruiser HJ60 make year 1988. Its original engine needs an overhaul now due to some unidentified reason which caused its seizure. I have been planning to install a 12 HT, 4.0L into it. Some of my friends are suggesting me 1HZ, 3UZ(v8), 1KZ or 1RZ. Please drop your suggestions which one would be a better option in case of reliability, fuel consumption, power and other matters.

I kept an 1989 HJ60 with original 2H non turbo unoverhauled engine and it was having 425000 kms on it without a single spanner on it, and I was using Delo Gold 15W-40 and it used to consume almost 3/4 of a liter only.

I would suggest to replace with 1HZ.

The reason is that 1HZ got discontinued in 2009 and spares can easily be managed secondly its a workhorse engine with 129 hp as compared to your previous 2H i.e. 107 hp.

Although 12HT can be a bolt on solution but its very old now and it would be difficult to find a clean engine and later on its parts will be headache too.

If you owned it(the one in the picture), i would say you should miss it more.
Thank you for the suggestion. What about the fuel consumption of 1HZ and where can i possibly find it??

Al hamd o lillah I owned the one in the picture above, the only reason to sell it was that it was non turbo good for 80-90 km/h only secondly its original suspension was sagged so if I would have kept her I would have placed old man EMU lift kit with larger tyres but it could have slowed it down further.

1HZ can give you around 8-8.5 km/l in city and on highway it can give around 10 km/l @ 90-100 km/h.
