Need to buy the best water level controller for home tank

Guys, I need a sensor that would automatically switch ON my water motor at home when the water in my underground tank reaches an specified level and switches the motor OFF automatically when the water level goes below a specified level in the tank.

Any idea? Those who has it installed in their homes please let me know which system/sensor to buy and from where.

Go to Sher Shah water pump market. They have switches pulled off of broken ships.

The switches which are from ships are know as limit switch and they are of no use inside water tank unless certain mods are made in tank.. Even in ship electric float valves are use in water tank as they are safe and reliable.

Check hardware stores who keep water pumps and plumber stuff.
They are called electric float valve,
Buy the complete seal 1's they are made in china and quite reliable (yellow/orange in color) better than pakistani made.
Price depends on seller normally they are between 600 rupees to 1k.
For both tanks buy the same type, we have been using them for years without problem.
Don't go for pakistani stuff very poorly made they are.

Make sure you get the ones from Sher Shah rather than those from the market. The market ones are either local or China made. Very unreliable. The ones in Sher Shah are either Italian or German made.

Also, keep in mind that there are two kinds of switches - a regular one and a reversible one. Both look the same, but the wiring is a bit different. A regular one can only be set one way.

Float DOWN - Switch ON
Float UP - Switch OFF

The reversible one can be set either way - simply by changing the wiring. Which is useful if you want to wire it up so that switch can only go ON if there's enough water in the main tank. You throw in a reverse switch in the main tank and a regular switch in the secondary tank (the one you need to fill). Wire them up appropriately and your motor will only run if the water level in your secondary tank is low AND the water level in your main tank is HIGH. This prevents your motor from burning out running empty when there's no water in the main tank.

Okay heres my scenario, I have a tank located outside my lawn, that gets water from govt water supply.

What I want is that, whenever on a day theres a supply of water from govt, like when the water starts coming and reaches half the tank, I need the motor to start which brings the water to inside tank and then that insider tank has another motor that takes water to the overhead tank.
I just need this float switch that would simply switch the machine ON when the water starts to fill the outer tank and when it gets filled half i want the motor to switch on automatically and switch OFF when the tank gets empty. Thats it, nothing to do with the overhead tank. Just a tank which would get half filled and the motor would start and motor switch it off itself when the motor has emptied the outer tank. (Nothing to do with my overhead tanks water)
Which type would I need for this?

Yes they are 1's i am talking about. China made electric float valve or switch. They are easily available at any hardware store keeping plumbering stuff.
Btw i am using the same.

We moved to a new home in a developing society where WASA water supply was not available. The water has to be pumped from the ground to the overhead tank. Sometimes motor was not started on time and faced unexpected water cut-off during washing, showering etc. On other times the motor would keep even after the tank was full, causing water spilling over. Soon it became apparent that we needed to have a float switch to automatically turn on and turn off the motor to avoid the babysitting of water pump. We searched the market and found that only mechanical type of floats were available. I started building my own circuit to take care of the pump. Starting with the commonly available circuit online, the first prototype worked for about one week. After that sensor has to be replaced because it was eaten up by the electrolysis due to DC sensing current. Then redesigned the circuit with pulsating current and keeps working till day without the sensor clean up with about 2 years of continuous headache free operation. After requests from family and friends I starting building more of these. You need a sump pump controller. It will have two sensors. One at the maximum allowable water level and the second one at the minimum amount of water. In your case the lower sensor would be placed very close to the bottom of the tank. When water reaches the upper sensor, sump pump will start draining the water. Once the level falls below the lower level, the motor would turn off. I may help you at Automatic Water Level Controller Hajvery Technologies.
