Assalam O Alikum
In August 2015 I visited SWAT, with family without proper planning. It was my first trip. The experience was not good. I was with Islamabad guest house driver, who does not visited SWAT earlier and I was with him:
. I went upto the Kalaam but didn’t visit Mahodand Lake, Kalam Forest, Malam Jabba, Miandam and White house Marguhzar
. But I was amazed with the beauty that I found in my way to Kalaam even on the pathetic road (from Behrain to Kalam). The experience of Trout fish on Kalam road at The Milash hotel was adorable.
At return to the home city Karachi, started searching places for next vacation in 2016. Here I found Pakwheels, while going to the threads, realized what I missed in my SWAT trip
I explore the beauty of Pakistan on Pak wheels.
This time I opted Neelam valley. I found plenty of detailed and informative threads like Butt sb. macpak, Tayyab chughtai and got very valuable information of Taoubat from Muzmilblog. I am also introduced by my cousin (who had visited neelam valley 1 month ago but did not go to Taoubat) to the Local Driver Ghulam Mustafa – Al Abbas Hotel cell number 0345-3406468. A very humble and nice person.
Stared my trip from 22nd August to 3rd September with my wife, 3.5 yrs Daugter and 6 months Son and went upto Taoubat and night stayed there. But I Missed Arangkel, there was a heavy rain at night when I stayed at Kel, lift was not operative and locals advised not to go with kids on muddy track. So it missed. My summarized itinerary starting from Karachi is
Rawalpindi – Jungel Barracks (Ayub National Park) – nice place to stay – (traveled through Tezgam, a comfortable copay, but train was late by 5 hours)
Murree – Faran Hotel – not a good experience
Muzaffarabad – Al Abbas Hotel – budget hotel for stopover
Keran – Valley Traker – good experience (breakfast at Marco Polo – Patika )
Neelam View Hotel – Sharda – Good place (we sucked here for two days due to the nonstop rain)
Syed Sabistan Hotel – Taoubat – beautiful place (stayed only One night) – Sharda to Taoubat (6 hours of journey not a good track but with the breath taking views.
On return from taoubat for Arangkel, but couldn’t manag and stayed at Kel AJK rest house
Last point – Kutton – State Continental hotel and here we missed Jagran resort due to the tiredness of kids after a long journey and stayed here as first available option – not a good experience
Vacations end – back to work.
