You are the indiana jones of that Area. I just visited (yesterday) the Neela Wahn 2nd time. On returning, I asked some local people if there is some other interesting place in this area. Some locals told that there are some active salt mines near by (about 15km). But we were already getting late to return to Lahore. So I have postponed the idea till next trip. And also to get more info before planing to visit these salt mines. Do you have any information about these salt mines?

i have seen many coal mines in that area but am unware of any salt mines here ...... i think they mite be small ones even if they exist.......

Hello PW. Another nice thread and a source of invaluable information for amatuers like me.I have few questions PW Gurus. We are planning to goto Neelawahn in 10-15 days.Probably we will be mixed group of 25-30 people.We will be travelling from Islamabad on a coaster.
1- How is the security condition? Is it safe to travel there with a mixed group!( I am asking cause boys only have not much problem but its a different case when girls are there as well)
2- Are there any other similar spots in Soan valley with approximately same travelling time that you guyz ?
3- How deep are the ponds and whats the level of difficulty for the small trek?
4- Hows the road condition from kalar kahar to that Graveyard area?

no security issues there.. i have been there with family
there r many spots like kanhati waterfall, kufri waterfall, etc
the third pool is the deepest avoid swiming in it
road is great full metaled road
