Neelum Valley - hotel bookings

We are planning a tour to Neelum and Naran after Ramadan, had a chat with one of the Jeep drivers and he mentioned not to do any hotel reservations as the hotel might charge us extra now and we will get cheap hotels if we book during the travel...

Any suggestions? Is the driver correct or we should do our bookings now?
