Neelum Valley Tour- Guidance needed

@poster: Please be informed that If you have Coaster you can cover all your routes very easily. One of the most drawback of Neelam Valley is road conditions, you should not expect carpet roads over there. There is no need of 4*4 till KEL, not event Taobutt route require 4*4 engaged. However, jeep is required to reach till Taobutt from KEL. when I took my marvelous Mehran to KEL, will you believe, I hardly applied 3rd gear, but it was little car too. Therefore, on coaster you should not be worried about road conditions. I will be annoyed if you miss Arang KEL this is most beautiful place I ever see.

@madCYRUS: How you managed 45 minutes Trek to Arang KEL, I am surprised. Only locals can cover this in 45 minutes.

@amcolian1097: Brother, this version of Accord is event lower than corolla, not suggested for this route, otherwise expect floor hitting.
@ALL: People having cars other than Mehran should expect floor hitting, unless driven with extreme care

1. Athmuqaam to Shardaa = 48km and 89 min of drive

1. Shardaa to Kel = 20.10 km and 41 min drive

2. Kel to Shounter Lake = 21.50 km and 129 min drive

SUMMARY:
ATHMUQAAM TO SHOUNTER LAKE = 89 km and it takes 4 hrs 32 min nonstop.
If stoppage at different sights then 5:30 hrs require

I have a Vitz too. What about going upto Keran only and onward in a 4x4.

Yes! at least it has high ground clearance than accord. Taobutt is not specifically 4x4, its a jeep route

As per my recent survey, Rent of double room at AJK Tourism resorts varies from 2000 to 2500 and maximum three persons can stay there. Rent of Rooms in Valley Trackers Hotels is 2500 to 3000. Other hotels are available in 500 to 1500 but their condition is not great.

Dear Sir, I am also planning a trip to Neelum valley in 2nd week of June. Can you provide me the AJK Tourism contact number from where we can book their accommodation. I have tried 1 2 numbers which i got from there website but i cant recieve a response from those numbers as no one is picking up.

upto sharda there is occasional issues of land clearance. u can manage accord upto kel but have to be careful and slow at some places and may have to offboard some ppl.

the ride was Surf 2002, due to time constraint we went up till sharda. road condition is good up till kail, and it can easily be reached by car,

You are right that road is good till Kel but only for Surf or jeeps etc, not for cars.
Road is suitable for cars only till Keran.

Hi thanks for the contact number. although the place is already booked on the weekend plus some other places i have contacted but still I am leaving tomorrow for Neelum Valley. Hopefully will find some reasonable place to stay INSHALLAH. Fingers crossed...
