Negative chamber wheel design

i have an idea to design negative chamber wheels and related tires to go with them...

especially in lowprofile tires half of tire gets lifted if we run negative chamber so i thought why not have a special wheel design with internal dia smaller than external dia and tire also designed to fit on,, so the whole tire foot stays on road.

does anyone know this has been done before otherwise we can patent it as PW negativechamberrims

Ofcourse these are only for cars which can run on negative chamber.. and not for regular family cars.

Wow, what an idea levin. I don't know if any body has done it before. But then you will need special tires for the special rims. You will have to contact tire companies like General tires of Pakistan or any other manufacturer in Pakistan (if they can make such a tire).

Would having a negative camber angle reduce the turning radius?

Camber describes the inward or outward tilt of the tire. If the tilt is inward of the tire its referred to as negative camber and if the tilt is outward of the tire its referred to as positive camber. The camber adjustment maximizes the tire-to-road contact and takes into account the changes of force when a vehicle is turning. Camber is the one adjustment that can be set according to driving habits. Generally, if you drive more aggressively when cornering, more negative camber can be set. If you drive on highways and do very little hard cornering, more positive camber can be set.

So, what Rashid bhai is saying that if you design a rim which have the smaller inner dia so you can eliminate the tire wear on the inner side of the tire and tire will sit flat on the road.

I was thinking about what you said Rashid bhai, but wouldn't the rim be lopsided and cause trouble during movement? :S
