last week I inquired for a Gel Battery, it was only available in 32-36 AMPS and that was for around 4600 r.s. at Punno Battery at Liberty Market. I also need a Gel Battery of around 48 AMPs.

dry batteries are in short in market right now. they were quoting me prices like 4500 + if available

I think you should wash the battery holder in baking soda + water solution to neutralize the acid, cause it seems to be decaying.

Hashim bhai my stock AGS battery which came with my city has production date of 06/01/05---car has clocked 23K km and is still running. Have my fingers crossed lol !

the mess u see is done with the previous exide battery.it used to give out to much acid vapours! started damaging car hood even. even warm water will wash it off...will do

@AkbarGr8, great going, I think I should also stay hopeful about the life of my City's battery.

I changed my Santro's battery in April or May 2005, and it has done almost 50K running since then, and battery seems to be going good. But to be on the safe side I was wondering whether should I get the battery changed or wait for it to die. How can I get an idea whether it is in weak state or still good enough to do few thousand miles as I do not want to wake up some morning and figure out that I am unable to start my car.

im facing the same dilemma, i have thoroughly maintained the battery-so perhaps a reason why it has lasted thing long. I have decided to keep jump start cables in my trunk, just in case it decides to die some where (will save from embarrassment of pushing the car lol!)

guys i have one problem with my daewoo if anybody here can comment on it i ll b greatful.

my car starts on first self every morning , but when i drive some miles and due to some reason if my car stops in a gear , it usually cant start again. phir dhakka lagana parta hai ? why is it so, should i change battery or it is the problem of generator. please guide me in this regard.

^^ u mean the self goes dim and dies out eventually and u have to push start the car? electricians have this meter from which they check charging of the battery. think the generator is partially working and battery is fine as it starts in morning with cold engine

yes you get it exactly right, so should i replace the generator or should i first get it checked from electricition about the battery?

and also tell me which brand and size of battery you prefer if i had to change that

get charging checked with a proper meter from electrician first. probably its the generator not battery.
bro battery size differs from car to car(physical space) and the fitting points(neg/pos pins). 60 amperes is enough for a petrol car i think .
