New City(1.5 manual) or old Civic(14/15 model oriel prosmatic)? which car to buy in 2021?

Salam!
I am a new user and looking for suggestions from the members. I have a budget of around Maximum 2.5M and looking for a sedan.. my considerations are

1) Civic 9th gen prosmatic oriel (14/15 model)
2) City 1.5 manual (new, i know it will cost more after registration, new price is around 25 lac 30 thousand)

the obvious pros and cons are Civic has a bigger engine, airbags, cruise, auto transmission but has worse fuel avg and will cost in terms of maintenance as a used car,
City will be brand new and a relatively better fuel avg but will not get any airbags, cruise, less space also i m thinking if the new generation of city arrives this year it will affect the prices of older generations so the resale wouldn't be that great.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Civic 9th gen is a much better option

and go for 2013 or 14 model because you might get lucky and find a low mileage example and you can search for this specific generation on pakwheels.com

but be aware of rust issue on door insides and inspect the car thoroughly

civic's are usually not abused keeping that in mind they don't like to be mishandled also so if the previous owner ignore a certain periodic maintenance it will result a hefty repair bill because honda genuine parts are not cheap

Just my personal opinion I hate Honda CITY

On the basis of your considerations, Civic 9th gen. is without a doubt a better car than Honda City (even New) in every aspect.
Rather than just the advantage of buying Honda City Brand New with perks of warranty and all, there's nothing else you're going to get worth mentioning than more than a decade old shape with some cosmetic changes like Suzuki used to do in Mehran in the past.
However, if you choose Civic 9th gen., you'll be getting a lot of goodies with just a compromise of getting a rather older model and used car, but with a lot of perks.

The rest is your personal choice.

Get the civic if you can find a good one used but if you want a brand new car rather then getting a city you should go with a Yaris gli base model it’s much better

I can't recommend anyone to buy old gen city now, it will lose value if 6th gen is launched. Yaris has dented its sale due to huge gap in equipment. Cerato and elantra if offered this year can throw current gen city out of picture. Not to mention Alsvin is capturing its customer.

You have example of cultus old gen which continued until 2016/17 and sell less than Wagon R now for same model year. Because cultus had nothing which belongs to this era.

Go for yaris or used civic

What should be a reasonable price for a 9th gen oriel (14/15) model with mileage under 80000. I have seen some people asking as much as 28 lacs (examples on PW listings right now) but the average is around 26 lacs.

Pakwheels listings are always 2-2.5 lac above market price. U can get clean 2015 top of line model around 26 max in karachi. Islamabad and lahore prices are insane. In karachi u can demand 29 lacs for a 2015 model but it will simply not sell as there will be 1000 cars of the same condition as this , so the price competitiveness is there. Punjab and KPK have limited availability of clean cars as the market is not as big as karachi so people demand what they like
