Just bought a new civic 2018 model. The car is new but after driving it for about 15-20 minutes,it gets really hot. Can someone tell me the reason? Got a tracker installed in the morning and since then there is a burning smell too. Someone kindly please reply. Thanks.
Please take it to dealership and keep the car there till diagnosed. Whi asked u to get tracker???
DO NOT USE CAR till inspected for burning smell.
If you dont ve cautious enough you will end up with godforbid loss of car

You mentioned after 15 min it turn hot. You didnt mention which part turn hot.please elaborate more
It’s alright for a 1.8L engine to make the hood this hot after even a short drive. Burning smell could be of seals and rubbers setlling down. Had the same in my 1.8L Altis. Comes up within the initial 200-300 kms of the new car. Still get it inspected from the dealership as it’s a PKDM Honda for peace of mind.
Checked the radiator... no water in it. That could be the reason. Now its much better but still would get it checked tomorrow from honda. Thanks.
was it before Tracker installed or after it if after take it to dealership ASAP to inspect to refrain from any loss.
WHAT.....please do not pour in water...buy genuine honda coolant and use that pre mixed coolant. also make sure you bleed the system. google the term.

Radiator had no water in it. Honda is just focusing on increasing car prices... no attention to the quality. Now the car is much better but still I will get it checked. Thanks for your reply.
Radiator was almost empty. That was the reason. Will still get it inspected.
The radiator was empty. This was the main reason. I love the car. The looks drive and everything else is perfect. Yes there are some small issues but still Honda is the best. Everyone has different opinions but I(after using toyota for 5 years) can proudly say that Honda is much better.

It's good the issue was caught on quickly and resolved. I hope no damage done to the engine. I'm amazed the Honda guys at the dealership didn't do any pre-delivery checks of all fluids. I hope other fluids and liquids are up their required levels.
