Civic and corolla is already being compared here so its safe to input my 2 cents.
Exterior: The new corolla looks more beautiful than civic. Especially the European model. I had my reserves when the pictures were released but with the passage of time, it has started looking good. Similar thing happened when new city was introduced.
Interior: Cant compare the build quality yet but Civic's interior is more good looking. As someone stated before, sporty yet elegant. Corolla's interior doesn't feel roomy and the build quality doesn't look good either according to the pictures.
Acceleration: Civic has always been faster than corolla with more advanced engines. I think same will apply now.
Economy: Again, Civic has been more economical in previous two models as compared to Corolla. Cant say on this one. When the car will be launched, we,ll know.
Handling: Again Civic has been proven to handle better than corolla on higher speeds. New corolla will definitely be better than its predecessor models, but I doubt it will be as good as Civic in this one too.
Comfort: Corolla has always been more comfortable. They have proven to handle bad roads well. Civic has harder suspension. You can either go for better handling or comfort.
Reliability: Both cars are equally reliable if maintenance schedule is followed. However, Civics are more sensitive and have high rate of breakdowns if maintenance schedule is not followed. Whereas Corolla goes on a little longer.
Resale: Corolla has been a hot cake in Pakistan in previous 3 generations. Same will be applied to this model.
Both have their equal pros and cons. It all comes down to personal preference. If I had more money, I,ll keep both cars.
