Good news guys!!!
Its confirmed 1GD-FTV with variable nozzle turbocharger (VNT) 2.8 litre variant to be offered in upcoming fortuner as standard with petrol 2.7 litre variant and in up spec Revo G and Trd version and yes its the new 6 speed auto gearbox.
Amazingly Coolbox and rear vents in Revo.
Keen for price news anyone..

Halting civic turbo buying decision. ..will add more for the worthy beast! Hope the Revo G to be around 3.8million and fortuner under 5 million mark.

Not 100% sure about price. But two months ago went to Toyots Defence motors for service of my car. Had a chat with the agent there. Came to the topic of Selling car and all. There he mentioned that the Revo would not be any less than 42. Now not sure how authentic that was.

I wished they gave the 2800cc one its gona be the 3000 1Kd inter cooler VN turbo engine looking still forward to it, if built quality wise and overall package Is up to mark might just get it!

Yes sir. Correct. 1KD is confirmed. Was at someone's place. Their cousin works at I did and he confirmed that it's coming with 1KD. He also said that it will be a big improvement with very good features and quality.

That's only for imported Revos. Locally manufactured most probably will have 1Kd.
But hoping for 1GD as well

1GD is not going to survive longer on our adulterated diesel euro 0, tht why Toyota Indus went for 1KD-ftv also as it will bd cheaper compare to 1GD

IKD VN turbo is better suited for our country btw good news is from October onward diesel is improved shell & total are gona launch better standard petrol and diesel that's a confirm news.

This is pretty old talk now, same was said about D4Ds 2kd and 1kd over and over.
So I believe if toyota wanted to give GD it could have.

My source was from the petroleum industry not the auto industry! Not giving GD is a just lame but then Indus owns more share then Toyota soo they ate more or less In charge!

Toyota Indus can give 1GD or 2GD but the cost of maintenance will be too much for us, imagine going after every 5000km for engine service and maintenance due to our diesel. A lot of newer diesel engine require minimum euro 3 or 4 standard diesel tht why u hardly see diesel cars these days even the toyota corolla new engine 1.4d4d didnt launch here.

I am not denying diesel quality issue but remember we used to say this for 1kd/2kd untill toyota launched Vigo. I doubt fuel got better during this time

Sir It's a Toyota engine. It can't be that delicate.It will last at least 100,000km if not more without giving problems, even with our diesel quality.

Any engine can last 100,000km if maintain it properly and timely. I had two diesel corolla one was 2006 and other was 2008/09 shape both 2c engine. 2006 corolla was not maintained properly and had many problem after 60k km and 08/09 corolla i used to maintained timely never had problem until i sold it.
I have seen many guy swapped petrol engine on originally diesel corolla due to expensive parts and maintenance.
