Though Hilux and Fortuner will be brought in as knocked down units (meaning, almost whole of the vehicle will be as good as the imported ones as far as parts are concerned which in this case will probably be Thailand), IMC will still manage to degrade the vehicles' built quality at further two more levels to save the pennies.
One will be quality controls and conformity to International standards right there from vendors to assembly line where human factors come into play.
Secondly, the locally procured items such as suspension parts, tires, seats and rubber/ plastic items.
Since, comparatively inferior quality and performance of these locally procured items is directly related to ride quality and comfort of the vehicles, it thus translate into negative users' opinion.
