New Honda City 1.3 AT with Nice Low RPM?

I just got my new Honda City 1.3 Prosmetic and this is my first car. I don't really have much of an experience with cars but I noticed few things and discussed with others.

First of all this car drives at very low RPM, at motorway and normal roads, it stays at 2000 rpm (or even low) at 100-110 kmph speed. While my friends with manual transmissions said that they get RPM around 3k at this speed.

What's new in this car which changed it? does it has one extra gear? afaik it has five, right?

This is good that it does 100-110 in 2k rpm my auto gli does 120 at 3k rpm

I own one too.
At 120 kph RPM will be around 2500
The manual gearbox has different gear ratios hence the difference in RPM.

i got 1.5 aspire and on motorway its 110kph @2000rpm with fuel average at 18kmpl
its perfectas auto doesnot raise rpm instead it shifts to next level of gear

That’s good to know. Low rpms at high speeds mean good fuel economy. I know that Manual 1.5s don’t give good averages on highways (mostly 12-13 kmpl on 120 kmph) as told by my colleague who owns one. That’s a good thing on Prosmatec part

Actually City AT has 5 gears and the 5th gear is overdrive. You will get good economy but feel lack of power. If you accelerate the car on that speed then the car will downshift to 3rd gear and will give you power to accelerate. This is how traditional automatic works. Whereas in manual, the fuel economy would be less but you will not need to downshift if you want to overtake or accelerate the car.

Like while going up to kalar kahar on motorway, City AT cannot climb on 4th gear
