Salam All,
My new Honda City refused to start up in the morning three days ago. Engine was cranking fine so there seemed to be no issues with battery or ignition/ starter. I went to Honda Center Rawalpindi and requested to send some diagnostic technician with me. The guy asked me what happened a day before and I told him that I started the car in the morning but just switched it off within less than 5 seconds as I was lifted by a friend for an urgent job. That day the car remained there and next morning it refused to start up. While standing there in Honda Center, the guy replied that the car has become 'OVER' and I should have pumped it a little or shut it down after a little drive. Anyway, he came with me with spare plugs and all that. However, with little pumping up (the accelerator) while cranking and sucking the air intake with hand-action (through another helping hand at the engine), the car started fine releasing a big cloud smoke.
Now I am ambivalent about all this episode. Ain't injectors take in the fuel in optimal quantity? This isn't the classical engine where there used to be a return pipe. Why it all happened? Is it due to cold temperature where I didn't let the injectors work and switched off the engine too early, like in less than two/three seconds the previous day? Is it due to some dirt or choking in fuel line? Bad or dirty fuel? I get my fuel usually from the Shell pump in front to Westridge.
Any help would be appreciated by the experts on the forum so I again feel comfortable. The running of the car is just under 8000 and it hasn't given me any problem yet.
Best regards
