Can any one help with process of getting new design number plates in return of old number plates for Sindh ?
I want to do it myself.

fees for new plates is 1800. you need to submit your original plates to excise and then new will be issued - they must be seeing your original complete vehicle file and original NIC of owner. visit 1st floor Civic Center early in the morning. you will get all info easily. i got new plates for my car however your case is different as you are exchanging already issued plates. you can talk to Mr Raza (with my reference) to know more as he work in excise 03142383991

sir ji new number plates are not mandatory at present.
procedure mentioned by @abid110 is correct, however you can use yellow old plates after submission of paper as along as Excise does not issue new white plates. When white plates are available and CARD is ready you submit yellow plates & collect complete file with new regn Card as well.

new plates for my car will be available by end of nov 2023 till then am happy. Will submit paper work only after i get update for plate availability so process can be completed in 1 go.

@sardarg When did you apply for new plates and How many days were you told to wait for new plates? I was told 15 to 20 days. Not sure if weekend is included or is it only working days.

The process is simple.

Visit excise and taxation department. Go to the counter with respect to your car's registration series. Tell them you want the new security feature number number plates. They will ask if the car is on your name, if it is not you need to have original cnic of the owner give that and the original card to them, they will check if your tax is upto date and other things. Next they will print out a receipt for 1800, pay that on the same counter and they will hand you your documents back. Then you'll have to wait about a month for the new plates.

When collecting them you need to surrender your old yellow plates.

10-12 days after paying difference amount. for both my cars. please dont wait for any sms to come as i am yet to receive any even after 6 months or so

Dear Abid, can you please confirm about days you received new plates, mine is 2006 Alto and i transferred on 7th Dec and applied for new plates as well. I went too early on 14 Dec they said to come after 3 weeks but as per latest news by Excise DD Saeed Memon, Plates issue time is now within a day to 2 days and max 7 days to transfer and if any one faces issue they can contact him. I did all myself and paid 4775 where as for same task Comission Agent take 12500/- and i have the receipt, after 5 days it was reflecting on Excise System as well but i didnt get any sms, only received when i paid the amount .

Your challan for Transfer Alteration Tax against vehicle NO: AKV-000, amounting Rs: 4775/= has been paid successfully. MV Tax is clear upto 30-Jun-2024. You can also pay Vehicle Tax online for details visit taxportal.excise.gos.pk

I lost the payment slip of new number plates that was supposed to be shown to excise officer when I go to collect my new number plates in exchange of old plates. Can I get new plates by only giving my older plates without payment slip or is there a way to get a copy of my payment slip or will I have to make the payment again? Im quite worried. Someone please help me out!

please visit excise, submit balance payment over the counter and you will receive original plates within a month. its a very easy process and no help needed.

Today, I visited the Civic Centre to initiate the process of getting my car’s original number plates. I purchased the car in 2021 and paid the plate fees at that time, but due to issues with their contractor, I never received them.

I first went to the second floor with my car registration card, proof of the fees I had paid earlier, and a copy of my CNIC. They directed me to the first floor to pay a fee. After paying 1,500 rupees, I was informed to return to the second floor after a month with all the original documents.

Hopefully, I will receive my new plates then.

One more thing, If anyone want they can follow this guideline and pay the remaining amount from home using Quick Pay

good! dont wait for any sms. go these within 15 days. reach earlier with original file of car. they will stamp number plates issued stamp and hand over the plates to you. simple process.
