I paid tax online on 6th January, and then visited civic center on 6th February, just because everyone was saying that they were asking to visit after 15 days.

I was right to visit after 30 days, as they were saying that it takes 30 days approximately. On that day they had plates for people that deposited chalan till 10th January.

You need following:

Printed copy of your challan (Write your mobile number on challan)
Copy of CNIC(attached with the challan)
Old number plates
Car's file

You have to visit 2nd floor of the civic center, the room that issues number plates is the first room on the left. You give your challan and the number plates and then wait about 30 minutes and then they will call your name, go there and handover your file, they will put stamps on the file, that the older plates were handed over and the new ones were issued (You wait a few minutes more because it takes about 10 minutes)

They hand over your file and new number plates.

Just some minor nitpick, I didn't bring any tool to take out number plates, so I hired a guy that was sitting with number plates on the road side just outside the civic center, he took out 4 bolts and handed me number plates. I visited him again after I received my number plates, he made holes in them and put them on my car, this is the only non time consuming part of the whole process as they are professionals. They took 400 for taking out and putting on the number plates.

Well written whole process.I have some queries:
1. Did you take whole file inclusive of Sales invoice, Sales receipt, previous owner details etc. ?
2. So new number plates are issued without Holes???
3. Even in online application, I paid 100 Rupees for Challan delivery at home address but not received any post yet(Seems this is their loophole they kept for making corruption)

Anyways, I also applied in 1st week of January for my 1st car...... PSID was generated for which I paid through my ATM Debit card.

Now after 1 month, 6 Days.......This status is coming:
"Smart Plate was printed on 13-02-2025"

For my 2nd car, applied online, paid PSID through Easypaisa this time.
Now after 1 month, still status is coming that i applied on 16 Jan.

I have not visited civic centre yet as I planned that on same day, I will collect both car's number plates.

Immediately go for FIR about number plate stolen. Also publish Lost/ Found advertisement in newspaper.
If somebody will use it in illegal activity or crime, then you and your car will be in big trouble.

Now, apply online and at time of receiving, show FIR and Newspaper advertisement

2. Yes, that's the first thing that frustrated me. I had seen cars driving around, without those elliptical-ish holes that were in the previous number plates. I used to ask the same question. But such is life in Sind
3. I have stopped paying them for challan delivery for some time now, because I know for sure that it will not arrive, as it never did before. So just print it yourself, and do the needful

I am adding about the rush situation: There were maybe like, 15 people in the line. I went there at about 10 in the morning. Even when I was leaving the line had similar amount of people

went to pick my plates today (Wednesday). reached at 9.30am sharp and all counters in Excise were operational - good thing. directly went to 2nd floor, there were 7-8 people only. had my challan in my hand along with copy of NIC and my phone number mentioned on my challan which was handed over to the man sitting at counter - he just asked if i had original file and original yellow old plates for which i said yes. then i was asked to take a side and wait for my name to be called. within 5 minutes, my name was called and i was asked to hand over file and old plates which i did. the file was stamped on almost every page - total 2 stamps on each page - one of surrendering of old plates and another of issuance of security featured plates. in parking i already negotiated for 300 for taking out old plates and putting on new ones which was comfortably done under my supervision as i simply hate unaligned holes made which looks so odd. overall the experience was very easy and efficient.

I paid for number plates challan fee on 26th January 2025, but still waiting for number plates' delivery. On the excise website, it says that the number plates process already initiated.

Any one here, who paid number plates challan fee on/after 26th January 2025 and got delivery of number plates?

Same brother, I paid on 29th Jan online it shows in process initiated on 29 but according to my friend he applied on 9th Jan for 2 cars and after 1 month and 1 week 1 of his car showed number plate printed and the other one showed process initiated even after 2 months so I think last week he went there and got to know that both of his number plates were ready . So I guess no need to wait for confirmation on website just go there after 1 month and 1-2 weeks

I paid my challan via online portal. The payment has been deducted and I got the message from excise of challan, but the link isnt opening. Would please guide me what should I do now?

I went today to get Number Plates, Fees Paid on 7th January, 2025. As explained by one of member in above comments, the process was smooth. Number Plate delivery is done at 2nd Floor (adjacent to UBL bank). Today the person at the counter said only those number plates have arrived who have applied till or before January 16, 2025. Those who have paid after that should come after Eid. I would suggest one should visit after 2 Months of Paying Number Plate Fees. Try to pay fees Online using GOS Excise website. No Agent was involved in this process.

Yes, rightly said so. My agent also told me my number plates should arrive by 15th March 2025 (After one month and 2 weeks of paying the fee). Let's wait and see.

I am checking online and it is still showing requisition date; means not printed yet.
Yes requisition date was after 15 January. As it will be hectic to go there so I am planning to go single day to collect both number plates.

I'm experiencing a similar issue. I paid challans on February 4th and 11th, yet my number plates remain unprinted. The attached screenshot confirms Sindh Excise received the challans.

It's frustrating to wait as multiple times I have been stopped at Check Posts. Lucky people are those who paid challans in January received their plates in early March.
Any insight on this discrepancy?

Bro I've applied for mine on 29th Jan still not available, I asked someone in civic center he told me number plates applied till 20th Jan have been printed I think it will take a week or two more. If anyone else has any updates do share
