I visited the Excise Office again today, and the latest update is that plates are now being issued for those who applied by February 15.

Alhumdulillaah, got my original number plates after five months. Applied on 26th Jan 2025.

All the process was done via agent but he delivered the plates without asking for the original file to be stamped with "plates issued". Is it normal?

not normal. each page of file is stamped with

1. surrender of original plates

2. issue of new plates.

The new Ajrak design plates can be applied for via the GoS e-payment app or the Excise Department. If you want to do it yourself, it's fairly simple: just make sure your taxes are paid, then apply online or in person at the Civic Center.

as per touts, Rs.20,000 is speed money for OLD Yellow plate vehicles., Within 30 days, plate will be available after challan payment, with 50% of speed monies.

Officially number plate fee challans paid before January 31 2025, plate are available, though not updated on portal. Applicant has to visit Karachi Civic Centre with original receipt, original yellow plates, original file and waste time from 9 am to 3.30 pm to get hold of new security featured plates.

Number plate fees paid challans after Jan 31 2025, expect plates in 2026 only.

yeah website says mine is not printed but sindh excise facebook page posted all requested before march 2025 are available. im just wondering if its better to feign ignorance and no number plate is better than getting original

Who has exchanged their duplicate plates? I would like to know whether it would also come with value stigmatizing embossed DUPLICATE on it.

Before taxes are paid, I went through file and only found challan receipt for plates made by previous owner, no police report or newspaper report. Pff all I need is to visit Civic Center.
