People on pakwheels abuse GLI for being underpower while the fact is it is most selling car among all the corolla's. Considering manual variant as I have had a year back it has enough power to climb any gradient with five people, it has chill ac, it can go to 150,160 easily what can you expect from a 1300cc car and if one wants more power he can go for 1.6 or 1.8 variant you have the option and about the sound it has specific roar which I have not heard in any honda or suzuki.

Ooo wao gli climb mountains like champ and it's not underpowered at all 1998 engine setup 2nzfe 84hp on 1270kgs chaisis which Indus motor is using only..this engine is obsolete worldwide..then its useless to buy civics Audi's BMW altis 1.6.1.8 I think.

I have city aspire 1.5 manual I accept suspension is stiff but its feel more grippy and better handling then corolla gli..accerlaration and power is simply awesome 200times better then so called glis..

Cultus ags is same as the manual vxl variant , only difference us auto gear shift, average im gettinv is 14.4
These days ( with AC) , and without ac its 15 or 15.5 , when i bought it , it waa giving 13.9 for first 100kms, performance is very good, when you need power just switch to manual mode and the car runs with more power and when you want to drive smoothly and comfkrtably switch to the auto mode,

Since you own that car, you are going to brag about it everywhere, even in this Cultus thread, but your claims are far from reality. I have kept this City for four years, I am very well aware of its pros and cons.

i sold my aspire 1.5 city prosmatec day before yesterday. kept it for four years.

never been so glad after selling a car in my life, regretted every single sec after buying that car whenever i used it in these four years.

Same were my feelings after selling that junk. You can only use that car on plain and smooth roads. It behaves miserably on climbs and rough roads.

i have both GLI and City 1.5 and last year i went to Hunza with my family and we used both these cars. What i have observed after driving both the cars on long journey

1. Driving seat comfort
   I never felt back pain while driving city though i felt the corolla seats are more comfy but somehow after driving corolla 5-6 hours i started to feel pain in my back.
2. Cabin noise
   Corolla cabin is soundless while on the city side, outside sound and engine sound is quite loud. Even on 5th gear at 120 speed engine is quite loud.
3. Power
   Hands down city has the perfect power to weight ratio in this league.
4. Comfort
   Over all corolla is lot more comfortable than city mainly because of suspension and i dont know why city has started to rattle a lot on potholes and feels pathetic really.
   Corolla rear leg room is much better than city.
5. Build Quality
   Corolla build quality is better than city.

Overall corolla is much better car than city other than performance and corolla 1.3 engine will never disappoint you in hilly areas. and obviously with price is the plus point of city.

GLI is overall better car than city while if you consider power factor only then you can go for city, there is trade off otherwise city has pathetic suspension in sedan segment, period !

but city has good shocks...the drive on straight roads is much more smoother than gli....gaaree kai suspensions mazay kay nahee hain...lekin uss kay shocks hain...

The best thing i realised today about new cultus today is that its manual gearbox is too good to be true. Critics all over the world lovedcelerio gearbox and its best in class.

The sheer lubricated soft gear changes with little force of direction of gear make it really easy to shift and fun

While purchasing a sedan everybody wants space, comfort, drive, fuel economy and ground clearance. City has edge over fuel economy and drive (handling) while everyone not concerned this much about handling as sedan is meant for day to day movement from one city to another, where are the roads where you'll speed up your car make some fast turns in case you might not get hit someone as the traffic scenario is getting worst day by day. Despite I am a car enthusiast and love to drive cars but I want a car that is comfortable has good ground clearance, fuel efficient (though GLI is not much), and good driving characteristics which corolla has enough to offer, there is always a trade off no matter which car you buy you'll get one thing while compromising on the other.

no you wont, you will only get dil ki tasalee...i tried michelins and top of the line continentals on piece of junk city.

Anyhow i would request the thread is merely now become corolla city war please refrain from it as the purpose of this thread was review of new cultus and its comparison to the cars i have and is a common benchmark for everyone.

My cute pakistani nation will take years to realize that a City and a Corolla belong to different categories and are not comparable. The City's chassis is based on Fit/Jazz platform.

Corolla competes with Civic in less cute parts of the world.

Still that doesnt make it comparable to city even if they put a CD70 engine in it. The chassis is different and belongs to a higher class than city.
