New Swift 2022 till Present

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on replacing the stock tyres on my Suzuki Swift. I live in a city where the roads are quite rough and not smooth, which makes the ride uncomfortable. The stock tyres provided by the company are Bridgestone 185/55/16, and I've noticed a few issues:
1. Stiff Suspension: The low-profile nature makes the suspension feel too stiff, leading to a harsh ride.
2. Road Noise: These tyres also seem to generate a lot of road noise.
I'm thinking of switching to something that could improve ride comfort and reduce noise without significantly impacting fuel efficiency. Here are the options I'm considering:
1. 185/55/16: Same size but from a softer brand like Yokohama Bluearth or Advan DB.
2. 195/55/16: Slightly wider, available in Yokohama and Kumho.
3. 185/60/16: A bit taller, but I’d have to check local availability.
4. 185/65/16: Taller still, but I’m unsure about the availability in my area.
5. 195/60/16: Easily available from Yokohama dealers.
I'm leaning towards softer tyres to improve comfort, but I don’t want to sacrifice too much on fuel economy. Has anyone made a similar switch? Which size or brand would you recommend based on your experience, especially for bumpy roads?

I do not have any personal experience with the swift but in terms of fuel efficiency you should not face any major changes in 185/55/16, 185/60/16, and 185/65/16. Other than availability you may have fitment issues. I personally am struggling to make a decision on a Sonata that comes with low profile 18 inch rims where there is not much room to increase sidewalls. Changing rims to a lower size would allow you the most sidewalls but rims are expensive.

You're better off getting a bigger sidewall if fitment allows, rather than changing brands for maximum comfort.

I did switch my tyres on the new Swift around 6 months ago.

The size I went for was 205/55/16 as we usually have more options in that size. I got the Nexen N Fera SU4 from a local dealer here in Lahore. The ride quality improved drastically, road noise decreased considerably and comfort increased quite a bit. The factory-fitted Bridgestones are aimed towards fuel-efficiency hence stiffer rubber directly affecting the ride quality.

On the size, the research that I did months back lead me to the result that the ideal size is 195/55/16 - or one should try to keep the profile to 55, and just increase the width - increasing the height affects suspension most of the times so unless tested and reviewed by the car technician, should not change the profile especially keeping the local road conditions in mind.

What kind of fuel efficiency drop did you experience? A wider tyre with the same sidewall profile actually gives a bigger sidewall as well since it is a percentage of the width.

I drove for like a thousand before I switched so the car was quite new and usually the fuel efficiency improves with time.

If I remember correctly, think it was around 17 km/l at that time, and right after changing, I can see in the app where I note the numbers for fuel, it is showing as 16, 15, 15.5, 16 and so on for the complete tank fill-ups later on.

Currently, it has been driven around 9k and I am getting 17.5 km/l in the city with mild usage of AC while around two months ago, think it was 15-16 km/l.

I usually drive alone (like 70pc) so that also factors in and helps in keeping the efficiency high I guess.
