New Tata INDICA "Vista" Launched..!

After 10 years of the launch of the INDICA, tata has launched the latest New Generation INDICA "VISTA"..!!

There are more than 9.1 Lakh (First Generation) Indica’s already on the roads and the car is well accepted in the Taxi market where taking abuse is order of the day, a huge testimony to all the hard work put in by Tata Motors into the car.

Although reliable, the Indica fell short as far as refinement was concerned. It was always a point A to B automobile, a big roomy hatch with a frugal diesel engine is what everyone knew of the Indica

All along the way Tata Motors learnt valuable lessons from the Indica project and the other models spawned from the same base, the Indigo family.

The new Indica Vista is the crux of all the learnings the company has accumulated over the last 10 years and the results are nothing less than astonishing….. The Quality of the New Car is a Big Leap ahead.

The New INDIA VISTA is a car of International Standards.

The car comes with a segment best 24 months (75000 km) warranty and will be available in a range of 7 colors through 170 dealerships across the country which are progressively being renovated to wear a refreshed identity being rolled out.

The car is being launched in 7 variants priced at Rs.3.49 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi for the 1.2L petrol Safire at the low end going upto Rs.4.88 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi for the top end 1.3L Quadrajet. The TDi version comes at nearly the same price as the outgoing existing Indica V2 version.

The company will launch an ABS, Airbags execution in the domestic market at the time of the car’s debut in international markets.

:d That's exactly what I said, they are trying to imitate the success of microsoft, I guess they wanted to go with a MS certified name. :d

Overall, not much improved, actually the last one looked somewhat better from the front than this one. They messed up the headlights on this one. The headlights are Way too big, covering almost half the front fenders.

Also the front bumper looks awkward, again trying to accomodate the proportionally very large headlights.

The rear bumper looks too small for the body, resulting in the mud to easily splash over backside. A small molded trim in rear bumper behind the tires, to prevent the mud from splashing would have been helpful.

As a person in UK whom is an automotive engineer, mentioned, the engine is all welded together, and you can see the weldings at certain spots.

Intel inside, No, Microsoft "Vista" Edition name wanna be inside or outside in this case.

There are three engine options for the New INDICA VISTA. Two Deisel and One Petrol Engines.

Among them, One of the Deisel Engines is made by Tata and the Other Deisel and the Petrol one are from FIAT India..!! (Remember FIAT India uses the Showrooms and the Service Centers of TATA Motors in India)

Recent Test Drives of the Tata INDICA VISTA has indicated that the new car is a HUGE LEAP for TATA in terms of Quality!!

The INDICA VISTA is now Striking Distance from International Quality Standards!!

Thumbs up for the overall effort (y), hey atleast in India they are trying...and not just being proud of the assembled/imports like Corollas and Civics, like our people.

Imports HURT the country and its economy and further push you deeper into poverty, (sadly true in our case), local built cars like this one by Indians, however it may need improvements, but will eventually lift them out of Messy poverty they are in.

We need to do the same as these Indians are doing in India. Design, build and support our own automakers like Adam Motors in Pakistan.

The NEW INDICA VISTA is already HUGELY improved. Tata have used the valuable Lessons learnt during the Ten Years of making the Original Indica.

Auto Enthusiasts are going Ga-Ga over the Quality New Indica. Along with the FIAT made Engine and Gearbox, the New Indica seems to be as good an Imported European Car!!

Yes this car looks much Slicker and Well Put together than the First Indica.

Actually apart from the Evolutionary looks the NEW INDICA VISTA actually is an Entirely New Car altogether. The car has an all new chasis and engine options.

Two of its three Engines have been developed by FIAT and manufactured in India. One of the same Fiat engines (1.3L Deisel Engine) is used in the Maruti-Suzuki Swift!!!

Initial Reviews are very very flattering for the NEW INDICA VISTA.

Indica Vista launched in New Delhi

"In six months, we will take the Indica Vista to international markets," said Mr Dubey from Tata Motors at the New Delhi Launch of the Indica Vista. "It's a global product and meets all international safety and emission norms. We will re-enter Europe with the new Indica."

The company is especially proud of the fact that the new Indica Vista meets all the crash test safety norms and is Euro V compliant already.
