Another kick in common man's stomach?
I don't know why; but this 'phrase' sound awfully political to me for some reason!
Besides, who told you that Vespas are cheap, brother? They ARE NOT cheap. Far from it, in fact. Vespa used to be a affordable brand that used to make dependable and reliable scooters but now...
Vespa is a luxury brand!
Vespa is owned by Piaggio Group; which is an Italian Company that also owns other Italian exotic brands like Moto Guzzi and Aprilia!
Here's The Aprilia RSV4 Superbike:

And... Here's Moto Guzzi V7 III Racer:

What a beauty! A hipster's fantasy! Would love to own one someday...
And before you (or anyone else) start the blame game i.e start blaming the government; take a look at the price-tags of Vespas in USA:

The basic 50cc Vespa starts at $3,800 which equates to roughly Rs.420,887/-. And remember; USA is one of the cheapest markets for cars and motorcycles!
You can get a pristine condition Toyota Land Cruiser with a freaking 4,700cc V8 Engine for less than Rs.600,000 in USA (LA, California):

Good luck finding a good condition Honda City with a puny 1,300cc 4-Cylinder engine in Pakistan for that much!
Hope it helps and clears any confusion regarding Vespas and their alleged price-tags!
Good Day!
