AOA to all members,
A brief introduction to the vehicle and the purpose for which it was purchased ( I will try to keep it short :)). I have traveled to the Northern Pakistan with Family a couple of times on rented vehicles, and I always wanted to go there on my own vehicle and By the grace of Almighty Allah, my wish was granted in the form of this purchase. The main reason of this purchase was long trip with Family and Friends.
The vehicle is a 1996 Toyota Prado 1KZ-TE. It took me a while to be able to find this vehicle as I searched for them and looked at dozens of vehicles, but the ones that were this old were mostly abused and not very maintained, since the purpose of the vehicle was to travel with family I could not take a chance with those vehicles in trying to save some money with the purchase but then dealing with issues later on.
The mileage on the vehicle when bought was approx 112k, and the mechanic I showed it to believed it was the original Mileage based on the sound of the Engine and the drive of the vehicle, but when I was looking for this vehicle I had my mind made up that I was not going to trust the odo reading of any vehicle.
This is my first Diesel vehicle and therefore I would rely on the senior members of the forum here to guide me on how to take care of here. Things that I have done since the purchase.
Removed all the unwanted stickers, Got the car undercoated, replaced the Engine Oil (It was very dark at the time of purchase so replaced this immediately and then did it again after 1000 kms), Oil used was Caltex Delo Gold. the diesel filter was changed, the brake pads were replaced, the rims and Tyres were replaced, wheel alignment was done, The ATF was changed, the radiator was drained and coolant replaced.
So without further delay here is the ride
