The discontinuation is simply because of the government's ban on CNG kit imports last December. For those cars whose CNG kit stock has finished Paksuzuki has discontinued them, others such as Liana CNG will also be discontinued with time.

The Government of Pakistan's EURO II initial adoption deadline was in 2008 which has been constantly delayed (for obvious reasons) and emissions standards were never adopted. The news of July 2012 deadline might also be simply another stunt by the government, it's likely that they might cancel implementation of emission standards again.

I don't really see any point in implementing EURO 2 in 2012 when countries all over the world, including developing countries, have already starting implementing EURO 5. (Euro 2 standards were introduced in the late 1990s anyway)

Yes, EURO 2 is very old and India is going to implement EURO 6 i guess in 2016, but brother, this is Pakistan, yehan sab chalta hai (H)

Govt of Pak implementing Euro-II which mean vehicles with EFI engines only.

Since Alto is holding around 10% of suzuki sales, they decided not to make additional investment for EFI engine.

This sales gap will be covered through sales growth of Mehran (which is being upgraded to EFI) and Cultus sales.

Same formula applied by Toyota , they decided to discontinue Coure, since its investment for EFI is heavier than its portion of sales in company.

Further, OGRA already banned import of CNG kits due to which no new vehicle is being offered on CNG by Pak Suzuki.

^ Since theres no car in Pakistan in the 8 lack price range, Mehran 6, Alto 7, I guess any "akalmand" admi would opt for Alto rather then a Mehran by putting in some more money, In recent months ive seen alot and alot of Altos, Plus there was news on PW that they might come up with a new car aswell.

I doubt if Alto discontines, It serves middle class very nicely.

Well it's just speculation at this point in time. I don't think the company has made any official announcement.

Its about time more fuel efficient engines were introduced in Pakistan. I imagine an EFI engine Mehran will be much more fuel efficient. Still its nothing like the JDM cars.

Today My friend visited a 3S dealer in Lahore for inquiring Cultus & Alto availability & Price. Following were prices quoted to him

835,000 Alto Vxr-CNG where as invoice value is 796,000
1060,000 Cultus VXR-CNG where as invoice value is 990,000.

Moreover he told by concerns to book Petrol car available on invoice value which will be handed over after 2 months. He confirmed that no booking for CNG cars now days.

There is no new model or varient of Suzuki is coming as per their knowledge in this year.

As stated in this thread, Pak Suzuki is providing cars to Punjab Taxi Scheme, but I don't see much cars on roads, specially in Lahore, never see a single Cab on Lahore Roads in two days stay, however, few cars seen in Rawalpindi. People have changed yellow to black color and removed luggage carrier, and using Cab as Personal Cars.

I'm quite concerned with fuel efficient and advanced engines for small cars like mehran and alto, but it shd also be considered that a consumer loses almost everything inside the cabin room in mehran... no safety/no durable and good looking dashboard/no stereo/nuthin ... suzuki shd also consider putting some stuff inside too as they charge so much for a mehran...

I know a little bit that a P.O has to be made in favor of company in the lumpsum amount but where shd it be submitted; where to get a receiving for that and an issued tracking number n' stuff like that... can any1 plz guide me !!!
