NHDT-W54V HDD Music Juke

AoA guys

i have JDM equipped with "NHDT-W54V HDD", it has two Hard Drives one for the Operating System & the other one is for Music Juke. There r japanese songs in that Music Juke HDD & i can play them on NHDT-W54V.

The thing is that i want to connect that Music Juke HDD to my Laptop & copy the songs of my own choice, bt when i connect that HDD to my laptop via USB, no drive appears in MyComputer, can some one help me ??

Try to find its USB drivers online. It should work then.

This is awesome if the hard drives can be taken out. You can upgrade as well. Coming to the point

To access the data in the hard drives, take the hard drives out and check if its SATA or IDE.
Go to the computer market and find your self one of these:

This is also knows as 2.5'' Hard drive USB adapters. It is available for both SATA and IDE and available for easily Rs. 500. Open the unit and attach the hard drive to the connector, place it in the cover and connect it you PC and use it as a USB for transferring files. These install the drivers themselves or else use the CD provided with them for further accessibility. Voila

Best part about these players are that you can upgrade to bigger capacities as well but you always need to use them in FAT or FAT32 mode for them to work on these players.

Its an IDE HDD & i am connecting it to my laptop via External HDD Case, it has Japanese Music in it bt once when i connect it to my Laptop no drive appears there,
computer>Manage>Disk Managment it appears as Disk1 Unknow

For detailed process and info google this up
From what i know you will need to format and then partition or only partition your hard drive to makes is usable and accessible via your USB adapter but please make sure that whatever you do does not mess up the working as in the player later fails to recognize the hard drive once inserted because it was partitioned.

i inserted another HDD in FAT32 format with Music in it, the Player converted the HDD to some other format now its not working with Laptop

I think your players uses a different file system than FAT32/16 or NTFS. You will need to find out which file system it uses.

Means that you can convert the current HDD in FAT32 and put your music via USB adapter in it and then later it will work on the player since it will convert it into its own format
However about the other HDD that you mentioned, which is not working. That problem can be solved. Format the drive/ partition it. It should work for sure then.

Mind sharing the japanese songs

these players hdds have their own file format and you need to get the correct program for them to recognize the drive and copy data to it.
