Nikon D3000 , worth buying?

im looking forward to buy a pro camera.. I want to buy new sealed pack cam not used. I hv Nikon D3000 in my mind. I also had a look on nikon Point n shoot camera P510, but thats not a dslr so im preffring D3000 over P510. Would i b able to take pics on stock lense ?
from where should i buy it in karachi ?
Also should i buy d3000 or not.
is it worth buying?

Yes it can, you will get a kit- set with it which will have some lenses. They are perfect to learn techniques on, and once you will that you need something better, ask the photo experts here:)
Mind sharing the price of d3000 as I am tired of iphone 5 camera lol.

i say go for a d3100 instead my friend just bought one like a month ago just beacuse d3000 didnt have the hd recording in it, its same as d3000 with same lens but hd video recording is present

D3000 is not pro camera... secondly go for atleast d3100 or if u can't afford d3100 then consider p510 or canon G12 d3000 is old and ccd sensor which will give a lot of noise on higher iso plus there is no Live view in d3k

Final suggestion: As u have 35k max u cant invest in Lenses,Flash gun,Memory card ,filters etc DSLR is useless for u...So buy P510 better camera with flipout screen and 1080p video recording and GPS+ Amazing 42x Zoom (if u can stretch ur budget then go for canon sx40)

Brother do u have any idea what u are talking about Nikon D3000 with a 24MM will get a noise at higher ISO and P510 / G12 with cheap tiny 2/3 will not get noise since they are CMOS.

Its like saying that an XLi is more comfortable than an old LEXUS LS400.

Bhai D3000 mein pop-up flash aata hai jo 10 meters tak kaam karta hai.

For extra power Nikon SB-910 speed light lag jati hai.

Nikon D3000 kit which is selling for 34K at Shophive has everything except the D3000 makes no video.

Go for the D3000 if you want best pictures and compromise with video and live up with extra size and weight of D3000.

Else get a Sony HX10V its available with warranty for 18K.

If u want to spent full budget of 34K get Canon S100 since G12 is out of your budget.

Brother D3000 with Camtronix warranty and 18-55mm kit is available for 34K.

But its not popular here in KHI since we get Euro model grey product Canon EOS 1100D with 18-55mm kit which is much better than D3000 for 40K.
