Nikon D3100 or Canon 1100D

hi
finally its time to order a dslr camera , i was purchasing a Nikon d3000, but now i stretched my budget to max. Im getting a refurbished camera from USA.

So i hv 2 choice under 400$ (please dont suggest other cams or to increase budget)

Nikon D3100
Canon 1100d

i compared both, d3100 comes out to b best, but i heard in future if will need a lense nikon would cost much more than nikon.

Secondly i compared both on youtube so people says Canon1100d is better , though its 12.2mp n d3100 is 14.2mp

Second thing is some where it says Canon Rebel T3 n some where 1100d

The only advantage in my opinion the Canon 1100D (also sold by the name of T3 in the north america) is that it has built in focus motor, that's all, and you will get only 1 lens cheaper than the nikon one and that is EF 50mm f1.8g is for 10.5k, as nikon 50mm f1.8g is at about 20k....
nikon has more focus point, much better image quality , 1080p recording, and seriously i browse through flicker a lot and the d3100 images just looks better than canon counter parts, d3100 is a great cam i was about to buy it my self but couldn't buy it coz i was not getting much good deals on them, n i didn't like the notion of buying a new 3 years old cam so i bought the d3200, but d3100 is a great cam, also don't go on the megapixel much , coz even if mp increases the sensor remains the same size, though mp does play part when you have a premium prime lens which doesn't cost less than 19k for nikon

Don't take my word for it I actually just my self bought a DSLR did a lot of reasearch as I would have to stick to the brand coz I was going to invest in lenses. But if you are not going to buy new lenses than I would suggest you buy the canon 1100d , sell or have the kit lens depends on you , but must buy a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 , it cost round about 10k , why buy Canon 50mm f1.8 coz this unlocks the hidden potential of the dslr camera, on kit lens the image quality is not that good, with the a prime 50mm you will get a very sharp boost in your image quality, or else DSLR won't benefit you

Nikon only 50mm 1.8g lens is expensive apart from that they have about the same price you can check let me give you an example
Nikon 55-200 4-5.6 VR cost 14000
brand new BOX PACK NIKON 55x200 VR LENS is cheapest price

This canon 55-250 4-5.6 IS II cost 17000
not much of a difference and addition to that Nikon lens has a built in focus motor,

last thing, go n make a flickr account, search 1100d pictures and nikon d3100 pictures you will come to find that nikon camera has much less noise and more beautiful pictures
also keep this factor in mind if your friend poses which brand dslr so that you may lend lenses from them if they are willing to give it to you

If you can get an 18-105 lens with the D3100, it will serve you well.

Canon and Nikon both have not so very good kit lenses, so you will not be able to utilize the complete potential of any of camera with the kit lens, you will need a one prime lens, n canon 50mm f1.8 costs 10.5k and nikons 50mm f1.8 cost 20k....
and note you can not go wrong with any of these two cameras they both are great camera, it just depends on you what you want to capture....

bro im moving from digital camera, so i think stock lense would do good fr me. Im not professional. Secondly i like d3100 over T3 dunno why.

So i think d3100 would b fair choice fr me

both are great cameras you can't go wrong with anyone if you like d3100 then great, stick with it.
and about the upgrade and resale,,, I can't say anything my self coz i just bought my first one too so we both have yet to see this
but d3100 is in great demand ,,, so they do sell quite quickly

i dont know why the d3100 became obsolete . it was a good camera. i was about to buy it in july but then i bought p520 mastered on it and now sold it and im also searching a dslr . 42k budget. canon 500d is also a better option if u get it used.

it was a very good camera . i mastered on it tootee phajjee photography nikon p520 - 218848 . but that was a slr . now i want to upgrade it.
pros :
very very good zoom.
easy to use
good battery timing

cons :
it didnt work like a dslr. rather worked like a professional digital camera.
lenses couldnt be changed.
lag between taking photos .

yes I know a person selling a d3100 its a brand new camera but does not have box coz it was bought in thailand, and the person lives in karachi, i do deal online quite often so i know he is a good guy but don't know if you would like him or not. well he has this d3100 and its few months used, and i think it had a shutter count of 3000......
