Assalam o Alaikum, I hope everyone is doing great.
This is my first post on the PakWheels forum, I've never been into cars, my family never had any, I recently purchased my first car (Honda City 2005) and now I'm developing some interest in cars so I'm buying another car for a restoration project so I can get to know cars in detail and can experiment on that as well.
I'm going to buy Nissan 120y Datsun b210 1980 model, I'm totally a noob in the car field so here is my basic plan for the restoration process in which I will need your help and advice.
1 - Denting Work + Rust Removal
2 - Engine Swap
3 - Electrician Work
4 - Interior Cosmetics (if any)
5 - Paint Job
Project Expectations:
I want to have a decent-looking car that I can drive in the city, for some long drives, and occasionally drive to the outer city. I would love to have a close to the original look.
First, I don't know anything about engines, and I don't know what the model numbers like a4fe means, I was trying to make sense by reading other forum posts but I didn't understand anything. So it would be great if you guys can elaborate on your answers so I can understand them.
That being said: what would be my engine swap options? I want my engine bay to look nice and clean so I want to opt for a nice-looking engine, don't want much power, a 1600cc engine would be great, and can I opt for a diesel engine for this car? If yes, please suggest whether a diesel engine would be a good option and what engine I can swap. (Please try to provide the options that are not very hard to find in Pakistan as I will have to travel to LHR or ISL as I live in Sargodha)
.
The denting work can be done in my city, what are the best options for mechanical + electrician work in LHR maybe as I can travel to Lahore weekly.
Which is the best place for a paint job and what type of paint you can get for your car in Pakistan?
As I have a small business so I'll be spending money on this project little by little so there is no budget limit per se but I won't be able to spend a large sum of money in one go.
Any type of help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
