Hi Xulfiqar ! Nice to see you again! I have a post #394 in page 20. I have met 2 kinds of cd20 engine. One with EGR one without. They are also different at that sign where you have to allign when you want to set the timming. The one with Egr has the sign ( the mark) as the book says but the other has the mark in the other position. I attached photos on post 394 in order to be clear.
Please advise me how should I proceed in the case different as manual says.Thank you!

more then 90% of BLOWN HEAD GASKETS are caused due

to leakage of water throw radiator or hose pipes .

on board temperature gauge can not show any sign of

water loss . with this ADD-ON we can take control

on this situation .

There exists a small nut of like 10# spanner. I've gambled with it alot, if you tighten it slightly more, the car throws massive black smoke but it gets good in acceleration and eats more diesel. And if you slightly loosen it, the level of smoke starts decreasing and with your knowledge and engine response and smoke you can do a best setting of it. I'll post the picture too.

Best setting is not possible without dial guage and adapter. You cannot measure distances in fractions of mm via engine noise and experience.

I think your pump setting is out. you can check Nissan Rawalpindi it is located in Swan Camp. they have tools for job at least.

@Dani80pk sir what if the car has excessive blow by from dipstick and oil filler cap, but there are no signs of blue smoke, starting issue or loss of power. The blow by is reduced significantly when the car's rpm is raised. what might be causing this?

Diesels don't give blue smoke even when burning oil smoke will remain black blow by can be due to tight valve clearance too retard diesel pump

Engine is running rich slightly
When on higher revs the air fuel ratio gets balanced because on high revs more air is sucked by engine.
Get your pump and nozzles checked.

sir, do you know any good mechanic of diesel in Lahore?
someone told me that this blow by signifies that your engine is weak and most probably after 10 to 20k your engine will consume engine oil.

That's not
True we can not reach to conclusion by only this blow.
Currently you need nozzle and pump adjustment.
You don't need anything else.
And @star2 can help you in finding good mechanic there plus good diesel laboratory.

another thing, my car does not emit any black smoke when it reaches optimum temperature. just a puff of black smoke when it starts.

My name is Robean and I'm from Nepal, i have a Nisan B14, 1998. CD20 engine.

I am new to the site and to this thread too. I have real all the posts from top to bottom (no pages though??). Is this thread alive? I see the last post was at May 17th 2017?

I have some questions and need inputs from you guys if possible.

Until i found this thread, i always thought the CD20 Engine was old, easy to work on, powerless and what not, but this thread and the enthusiasm here made me think otherwise and question my thoughts on the engine.

This is a hello post and i will post my queries very soon. I hope all the Experts above will be there to help me.
