I must confess that this thread has become my favorite!
Your patience and efforts to make your car reliable are commendable, and I would advise you to keep up with them.
Sometimes you might get the impression that you would have been better off with blah blah, but just the knowledge you are gaining is something extremely valuable. Not to mention the reliable vehicle which you would have at the end, and the satisfaction you would get driving it!
I hate how the people work here, without any in depth knowledge about any subject whatsoever. And how their dumbness can transform such a robust vehicle (the diesel Nissan) into a catastrophe.
Someone like Xulfiqar and his know-how is a rarity (and im a fan!). I remember that after someone messed up my moms 2001 2.0D (just by servicing the bloody nozzles), it suddenly wasn't the same car anymore. The Result: I had to read allot, make a couple of tools myself (dial-gauge and adapter) and do "Jihad" against the mechanics whom I nevertheless needed (for instance setting of nozzle breaking pressure on the bench) despite of doing everything myself . And everywhere I used to go, I would get stupid comments:
بابو جی، ہم یہ کام ۔۔۔ سال سے کر رہے ہیں، اس کا ویلو لیک ہے، ہبڈ کھولنا پڑے گا
جناب، ہم کاریگر ہیں، ہم اوزار کی بجائے آواز سے پہچان جاتے ہیں (Totally Wrong! )
an I used to say: tell me your price, and do what I instruct you to do, cause its my car, my money!!
Anyway, after allot of pain, the car came back to be what it was when it was assembled, and mashaAllah still is! But when I look back, I came out to be a more knowledgeable person then any of those goons can ever be..
So keep strong, and never regret anything!!
