i have 92 B13 Sunny JX...recently put in 1.5L engine in it... now its like a car to drive with proud...:)excellent torquy engine with good sound....

Personally I think the new Nissan Sunny could have been a huge success if the price would have been lower.

Quite frankly nobody wants a 12-13 Lac 1300 C.C car, even if its a Nissan or even if its imported.

Taking the example of the Mitsubishi Lancer, which I am driving right now. Its priced at 999,000RS, has a 1.3 Engine, an excellent interior ETC. and ofcourse, made in Japan.

And to add insult to injury to the Sunny, the new City Cabs (Correct me if I got the name wrong) chose the Sunny in their fleet.

So personally I think the Sunny has 'Failed' in Pakistan.

Sunny is a good car. Our Paki auto market is based on mechanic psyche and "bher chaal". Its far superior to many of the locally assembled cars but yes there is one issue though. The car is priced higher for its class. 1300cc vehicle @ 12-13 lacs is something not much justifiable. But as far as the drive, reliability, comfort and performance is concerned, its an excellent car.

the cab people only choose cars that are reliable coz franly they have A LOT OF RUNNIGN daily! :), the choose a car thats reliabl, wont give problems, is easy in fuel and basically those are a few traits you will only find in a few cars! so u need to get ur facts straight :), id happily pay more for peace of mind rather than less for summtin that will bug me alot :). personally the sunny is better than any car in its category! the only car i would choose over it is a corolla coz i can that it everywhere and anywhere and like the sunny will never give me problems.....

I couldn't get the "insult" connection between Nissan Sunny and City Cabs. Most of the City cabs are Toyota Corolla XLi, which has high sales. They have also got Lianas and Nissan Sunny as well.

I guess Nissan Sunny is one of lowest maintenance car. I am the witness of two 120Y and their engines need a very little maintenance and still running fine like KE30 series engines of Corolla.

Being a sunny user n lover...i totally agree wid u bro ....sunny is quite better than local cars in all aspects...!!!
too bad resale wise its not too popular here in pakistan!!neways i personally don go 4 resale...its the performance that counts!

My estimate is that about a 1000 Sunnies are purchased by motorists in Pakistan every year. The figure for Lancer might be around 2000.
In Multan and nearby divisions Sunny is seldom seen. In Karach perhaps it enjoys good sale.
