Nissan Sunny 2005 - a SUCCESS or a FAILURE?

Dear Fellows,

Presently, I am using "NISSAN SUNNY 2005" 1.3 (Ex-Saloon) since it has arrived in Pakistan. Previously, I have used to drive Honda Civic Vti, Toyota Corolla 2.0D Ltd (2000 make) and Toyota Corolla Gli 2003.

Personally, I found "NISSAN SUNNY" as SIMPLY THE BEST among the above mentioned cars.

All of us know that "NISSAN SUNNY" has luxury at its extreme, shape is breath-taking, road-grip is excellent, air-bag etc. But on the other hand, I don’t find it a big success if we especially compare it with MITSUBISHI LANCER 2005.

(Please don’t start comparing these cars with TOYOTA or HONDA)

I just wanted to know what is the view of my friends about NISSAN SUNNY 2005 - whether it’s a SUCCESS or a FAILURE???

Nissan sunny is as good as Mitsubishi Lancer or may be little less. but it is definitly head and shoulders better than civic and toyota (the monopoly exploiters with suzuki) just doesnt get close to its dust

just enjoy ur car..........its really cool no doubt!....its a bit expensive fr a 1.3 thats why u dont see many on da road...oootherwise fit hai

i think its a success not failure you can says....cars are coming and we can see many on roads and many used as taxi's as Corolla was used earlier....this means that these are nominal cars in marketso they are running as radio cabs......i am using Nissan's myself and totally satisfied with its performance....Toyota Nissan Rulzz

@nasir, there's no doubt about sunny being superior then the pakistani assembles competitors and haan lancer. The only car I compare to sunny is the optra as it has more gadgets in it and a more powerful engine in a lesser price. But sunny has the best looking interior in it's class, the shade of beige is breathtaking, I didn't say exterior shape as I give that credit to civic, even though the assembling quality is very poor, the civic does have the best looks....

Thanks all the friends who replied to my query and appreciated the car i.e. NISSAN SUNNY.

After analyzing the comments of such a knowledgeable class with respect to vehicular industry, now, I am happy with my car.

But one thing that all of us must accept is that GHANDHARA MOTORS or the NISSAN WORLD AUTOS (who are the SOLE importers of this car/brand in Pakistan) don't know the "ALIF" & "BAY" of MARKETING... Ultimately, the cars being imported by them have to suffer...

I totaly agree with you regarding marketing skills of Gandhara and NIssan Dealers.

They could have done way better then what they are doing just by proper marketing.

even if it is the car with highest price in Pakistan, and parts r not available evry where,
even then, they hav gone for it.

Sunny always enjoyed a Niche segment of market and same continues for this model. I know people who kept all models of Sunny starting from Cherry 100A to this new one. Nissan does have some good loyal customers in Pakistan.

Nasir: Be happy with your drive. I know many people only going for sunny and lancer beacuase they think that now too many people have corolla and civic! So sometimes feeling of being different is more than anything else!

However, its a different experience when you test drive a new car and you maintain the same driving plasure after 40000 or 50000.

Success and failure are very relative terms. if you want to compare with no of units sold than yes its not a success but if you also consider like spectra that its a niche then it may be a success!

i think we cant say sunny is a failure.its a bit expensive but i m crazy about its looks it is the only new car available with its sober,elegant,executive looks.i dont know about others but i love this car and also planning to buy it in near future.

nissan sunny is the first international standard car to be sold in pakistan along with the crap that toyota ,honda and suzuki sell (their cars r good but the workmanship is pathetic - no value for money). sunny is expensive but its worth it!

well if u talk abou nissan guys ...i ma self is quite contend wid nissan...dey got class of dere own....wheter u talk sunny or maxima or its altima..no match 4 em....n talkin abou ma experince wid sunny 2005...chck out our sunny ...in islambad....

i dont know about other cities , but so far in Pindi/islamabad it has failed. they need to improve there marketing strategy i guess.....
but i think the company fitted CNG thing might bring the sales chart up...

well we had lancer 2003 glx automatic in dubai, it was a great car and the acceleration was too good, nissan sunny and lancer both are very good cars but i think the capacity of sunny was a little less(it was i think 2003 sunny in dubai)

well,nissan sunny is a fine car.nice shape,price tag lower than a Corolla or Civic and now it is coming with a factory fitted CNG! so wat else do u want.it is a decent car.i also like its interior.BUT if u have got a higher price range,always go for a Corolla or Civic,b'cuz these cars r legends in their class.but sunny lovers,i am not saying sunny is a bad car.it is a decent car.go ahead nasir,enjoy ur sunny.
