Guys,

My first experience with an engine swap; got it done in RWP Saddar with a QG18DE (bought from Mushtaq bh).
The wiring was complete harness to harness and the ECU that came with the engine was ZZ.
Issues:

Required : OBD-II dash wiring harness as the one already installed is OBD-I and Consult-II wont thus connect to it. Looked all over but cant find the OBD-II wiring harness.
RPM meter not working, the electrician (Ameer, disciple of Malang Ustaad says that a kit is required to be installed as the RPM gets its signal from the ECU).
Auto choke doesnt work (esp on cold mornings when i have to warm the engine up my keeping the pedal pressed).
Black smoke last week but fixed after my last visit to Ameer (after changing the throttle body, coolant temp sensor, Air flow sensor and throttle position sensor).
Faqeer ustaad thinks that the ECU is a mismatch (tried 4 different ECUs but none worked other than the ZZ).
Car's mileage (petrol) is around 10 km/l.

Any suggestions/way forwards with the above 1,2,3,5 and 6 points ?

Did you get it done from Malik auots (The one near the chowk).

I swapped a QG15DE in my B13 Nissan. Purchased the engine from some other guy and swap was done on Malik autos workshop.

Regarding techncial/wiring issues, you'll have to probably sort out yourself, as these electricians are good for starting the engine only.

Experts @star2, @spectra, @SER_GTR may help you in this regard.
@experts: MY ECU is also that "ZZ", so most likely, this guy got a 3-row ECU

Nope, some guy infront of the church (my biggest mistake), should have just purchased the engine and gone to a professional mechanic/electrician...

For now I need the OBD-II harness wiring ... Plugging the ECU into the Consult -II scanner will surely help with the diagnosis.

The team of electricians is the same, I think. A group of Pathans. 1 ameer and 3-4 young boys. Forget about any "professional" electrician.

Regarding the OBD-II, I wish you get it done easily :). I don't think anyone other than @star2 ever made it work on a swapped motor.

Yeah. Though I have heard from a few guys that Malang and Bilal are quite good with Nissans.

OBD-II, is it really that big a deal :)? Because the ECU is supposed to work with OBD-II only and the one i have under the dash is OBD-I.
I have the QG18DE manual with me, connecting the OBD-II harness to the correct ECU pins should make it visible to a Consult-II scanner.

As per my limited knowledge, you won't be able to get that OBD-II harness from any engine guy. That item will be a rare find. bro star2 managed it as he got it from a complete front half cut unit.

Plus, if you have a 3-row ECU, than finding the ECU pin-out for that is a challenge.

But let the experts come and guide you better.

no its not a big deal at all, people just don't bother or don't know plus the amazing ustads we have put the cherry on top - just get the OBD-II port from ANY car and use your service manual for the wiring / connections

Ok, I am gonna try to search for it again.
Why do you think the auto choke aint working ? The directly applied voltage test showed it to work :s...
Can the engine start up and run like mine if there is an ECU mismatch ?
And the RPM meter ? @star2 - need your expert opinions please...

Yes in some such cases engine do start up but don't work at their optimum

Auto choke / idle air controller and other things will only work if they have been wired properly

Yes true but the wiring was complete (uncut harness to harness from every sensor to the ECU).. Only the dash wiring was worked on and integrated with the ZZ ECU.

I got my N16 swapped and that is the least intrusive swap for a QG engine. No issues of OBD. Also, i am not a bijli ustaad. The ones who helped me with wiring are now out of PK and not regulars on forums due to busy schedules. I am sure @star2 can guide you (or maybe confuse you further) as he has done this himself.

Well the first thing to do would be the ECM-OBD II Harness... Consult II comes with this connector

and how come the throttle body and whole of the sensors got changed so quickly ? Would you explain that ? how much time has passed after the swap ?

@star2: Good to see you :). First up, no pics :(, just the one of the engine installed ...
swap was conducted on 25th Dec 13. Well Ameer Sb changed the throttle body and the other sensors to deal with the black smoke.
In the end, his conclusion was that the TPS was faulty (a replacement, the original TPS that came with the engine had a broken harness - but ironically in the end he had to put in the one with the broken harness). Drove the car for a week and went to him this Saturday again for the diagnosis...
