stock engine must be GA-14-DE
u can go for same series 1.6 or 1.8 but these engines are rare to find

there comes Ga14DE in SUnny 98......i think the best to put is GA15DS...its ECC Carby type........94hp motor.....lots of torque on Low end.....or GA16DE if you wanna remain stay at Efi engines...since it difficult to convert Efi to carby one...need lots of wiring changes....since transplanting is not a big deal....bcz its of same series..
i better recommend to find some GA16DE and go with it.....GA15DS suits in B13 or B12.....bcz they are carby...but they need complete change in axles mounts...bcz if B12 and B13 it comes Mostly E series Engine.....i have one B13 on which i put 1.5L E series 1.5L engine...E15...
i think you sell your QQ and now finding cars...better find some 94 model B13 Supersaloon with GA13DS......after that yiu can easily shift to GA15DS platform...no need to change..just take out and put in...B/w in know you are asking fr 98 sunny bcz Ga14 comes with head heatup problem.....
any info needed regarding to Nissan and Toyota......you are welcome....

FINALY I FOUND some1 to talk abt sunny replacement of engine..i got 98 model b14 1.4 efi converted to ga15ds coz 1.4 efi engine ga14de is much more shity efi stuff ive experienced in my life...engine has no power ...similarly ga15ds is not so effective its like avg engine with 11km/ltr performance...

What 1600cc Petrol engine would you suggest for a 1988 Sunny to be run on CNG for daily usage ???

alikhan....i know.....actually i am that same S-ali2002.........earlier........
i got my E15 now successfully...b/w i think that GA15DS would be enough for normal use.........if you wan't something blasting.....there's Nissan Sr20DET FF Turbo........thats what Nissan have against many rival engines...get that if you can...b/w...GA16DE was the other engine Efi one 1600cc....it creates around 110hp stock.....
something special is SR20DE or DET...which is not easily available here.........
the QG16DE is what comes in new Sunny....but its also difficult and a expensive buy...
Aridsoal....i think 1500cc GA15DS ECC is best to run...as you ask 1600cc so....GA16DE is the option.........

Converting efi to another efi engine is very complex like ga14de to ga15de i tell u the problems which i faced
1-Sensors are differnt u need monitoring device which is different for different engines
2-Throttle is not compatible in any case
3-Gear Box almost same but comes harder if u attach ga14 to ga15
4-Proper wiring is required which is not possible when there are No Labs for Nissan machines..
I would prefer carborater engine which is ga15ds...so its like complete modification which can disturb u in future...

well i got nissan sunny 98 model, engine is 2.0D, but mechanic says it will work fine for abt 1-season, and can cause trouble after that, what do u suggest should i sale the car or spend 20,000+ to replace the engine after 6-months ?

logical suggestions are welcome

@qadri well u can get the petrol engine which is ga15ds 1500c ecc engine sounds gr8 u'll get it within 25000rs frm bilal ganj all u have to do is t find proper foundation...sunny 98 parts are easily available in market make it sure u call for b14 body parts adding 40,000 will give a new brand..thx

well, the truth is: (ture story, 14th april 2006)

I went to repair the AC of my newly brought Nissan Sunny 98, engine was not so good at that time, diesel was nearing the end point. car was standing on slop in AC workshop, fuel pump sucked some 'kachra' and thrown it towards engine.

After that ...

engine failed to start, and about 4-diesel mechanic took about 2-days to diagnose the problem, and yesterday about 4:pm, the bad news,,,, 'engine was expired ' may allah keep it with angles .

then...........

Mechanic trade-off this engine with 'kaaabli' 2.0D 2000model nissan engine within 14000 rupees only.

i was happy to see that i will be having new engine for this much amount.
ppl say that this engine will work fine for about 2 to 3 years, if proper care/mainiaining is provided.

what a way to close the journey towards repairing AC

anyhow if it gives performance, i will forget this amount, and will enjoy it's drive.

i think u should go for petrol engine so u can enable it with gas any ways u've to take care of this diesel stuff Nissan is consider to be worst in making of diesel engines....well go for right mechanic who got enough experience of sunny engine replacement..thx
