Dear brother i know what you've been through, issue is no one is trust worthy here. People even in dealerships are scoundrels. They don't put in mls gasket instead put in a cheap 350-400rs gasket or sometimes if customer is well off and is ready to pay more they put a local lahore made gasket which is for 1800-2200.
Now issue is whenever you've blown the gasket the root cause is your car is not on coolant or coolant has been overused without changing it after its life has ended or if coolant is good, you might have damaged the radiator by some hard stone hitting it on your way to some place or some large puddle could have broken it. A little crack or a small pin like hole in a radiator or whole cooling system can air lock your cooling system and once it airlocked, your engine wouldn't be cooled properly and end up reaching high temperatures and blow a gasket, or it can occur when the cooling system is not bleeded properly to remove air molecules inside the car. On the left side of head, it has a opening or a air bleeder valve that is used to remove air in cooling system. As I've mentioned airlock can make the gasket go bad, or the gasket quality itself.
Moving up to the next point is, when the gasket is blown the head is made up of the materials that deform when over heated. And like head block of liana also deforms.now what happens is most of the mechanics they don't resurface the head and block, instead they place the gasket. And sometimes remove tstat. Now the car once thrown on long journeys or uphill or even in summers in local it again rises temperatures.
Now you can't blame the liana nor you can't say its a bad car. You were unable to get the work done properly, or the people you chose to work on your car were butchers and were unable to solve your problems.
And i have a stock m16a motor in my eminent.
I used it for 2 years and did kashmir, skardu and naran on it and it was better than any honda or Toyota of this model in acceleration or balance.
I love this car and wanted more power so threw a m18a assembly in it, else i wasn't facing any problems as such.
Moving forward to other things If you will not have sufficient knowledge to keep your car well maintained you'll be looted at every corner at every stage. You'll think you've invested good amount for quality but other person would enjoy your money and you'll get mediocre or low quality in return. That's how things work in Pakistan.
And mechanics cash more money from those cars that are blacklisted or are flop with respect to market. For eg u buy a 5k gasket. Mechanic would save his time and hardwork, just placed in a 350 rs gasket.
Now once it's blown again he'll try to convince you and defame liana.and throw everything on liana and you're the owner they'll play with your emotion and you'll end up loosing your temper on this brand or particular car. I was just like you, moved from a 2.0L cd20 diesel to nissan QG15 and then khuaari kaat kaat kar khud seekha just because mechanics and electricians were butchers, since i couldn't wait for these illiterate mechanics and inkay nakhray.
Alhamdulilah i take on projects of all cars now plus
My Nissan and my liana are trouble free and even if they encounter some problem, Allah almighty helps me with the knowledge and im able to sort the problems.
So dear brother, you've to be sharp enough to fight with this market mafia, comprised of mechanics electricians and kharaadias.
GBasically oil mein standard room temperature pe oil ki viscosity, uskay baad high temperature viscosity, phir with respect to wear, sludge deposit when heated and workdone by engine to deliver it across all other parts.
And most of the brands fail few tests.
So we suggest all end users who like research to go through YouTube, Google, pakwheels forums. And don't give this power to the so called illiterate mechanics to decide, which oil to pour. Hope you get my point sir.
Google has manuals and YouTube has tutorials you can watch them atleast and know what's the logic behind anything so that you know what are mechanics doing.
