Nissan y61 1998 vs 80 series

Hi,

I am comparing these 2 vehicles as i plan to buy one of these. I have never owned a nissan patrol but i have kept 80 series. I am just confused if nissan's maintenance is easy or not. I know about maintenance of 80 series. But not sure if its easy to find parts for y61 if needed?

if you have access and approach to UAE market Nissan Patrol is good vehicle. in gulf & arabic speaking states Nissan is most sought after SUV. It is good machine only if you have access to arab world markets.

in our holy land 80 series LC has slowly becoming extinct scrapyards are asking / also charging equal to new price for scrap items

A little homework on common issues and regular parts required for Y61, then a call to Abid Autos Montgomery Lahore can give you a reasonable idea of parts availability and prices.

In case of the y61 vs 80 series, I personally like the y61. Y61 drives and handles better, has better braking and is more comfortable. Both the vehicles are very solid mechanically, body / interior parts for both are mostly available used, regular maintenance parts are easily available from markets in Lahore and Karachi. Maintenance / running expenses are similar for both the 80 and y61 and to maintain either of them you need to make use of both used and new parts.

I personally like y61 as well and as already had 80 series before so I am also more inclined towards y61

I have see Y61 on Sand Dunes in the middle East. The most stable machines at high speed!
