I just bought the car a week ago and sometimes at startup it makes this grinding noise n for about a sec or less. Happens sometimes in morning and also after driving it for a bit as well starting after a little while. (Cold and warm engine temps). Also sometimes it does not happen at first start of the day when engine is cold but will happen after I drive a bit and start the cars after an hour or so.
Took it to a mechanic he started it two to three times but it didn't happen but made the sound a little while after when i was going home and had to stop somewhere for a bit.
I have recorded the sound. I also had the error codes checked and it gave p1604 and p1605 two times and once U0100 . But also before those codes the car failed to start once or twice on a short crank time a day before. So these code could be due to those.
I also had the car tuned. Throttle body,manifold cleaned. CAT cleaned without removing it. Fuel pump cleaned. Transmission and engine oil changed. Still the issue persists.
I am going to post a link for the video and audio of the noise. Can someone please tell if they had faced the same situation.
The mechanics guessed that is either the starter or problem with the timing chain or oil reaching a bit late.
