I have 2018 model Civic x around 65000km. The car is making weird noise coming from right side (driver side) of engine bay. The noise is only audible in very low speed (5-6km/h) or when completely stopped with brake applied in D, S or L gear and goes away in N and R. I have uploaded the audio from within cabin in google drive and added the link below as well where the noise can be easily heard. The mechanic told me its coming from idler/tensioner pulley which I replaced but the noise is still there. Car someone suggest what this could be?

Most likely your engine mount is shot. Check the gap between timing side mount and also inspect transmission side one. Also, hit that mechanic hard in the head. Tensioner, if bad, makes noise irrespective of gearshifts.
Sorry I forgot to add that the timing side engine mount was indeed damaged which I replaced as well but that didnt help either.
Check transmission side mount aswell. The shudder in your recording sounds like something from engine is contacting the car skeleton directly (usually caused by engine mounts). The engine shifts position when put in gear due to the counter torque, failed mounts make it contact the metal directly.
Thanks. I'll get it checked tomorrow
engine has to be lifted a bit over jack when installing a new engine mount of either sides. desi mechanics are clueless about removing mount under weight cause stress fracture over other mounts.
Bro I have heard the audio you have attached in your thread and the sound your car is making is exactly what I am also facing with my civic x. Please contact me on 0302-8884520 either call or WhatsApp.
Salaam. I’m facing the exact same issue…It will be grateful if you can let me know what was the diagnosis and solution to this problem and the total cost. Jazakallah Khair
Hi, I'm unable to hear the audio the link is not opening. Either give access to that link or send me video on WhatsApp regarding the noise. 03105419868
