Nokia to Apple Contacts transfer query

Hey everyone!

I used an N82 for 4 years and had a few hundred contacts in it. Before giving it to my brother, I backed up my contacts on Ovi Suite and reset the phone.

Now I have those contacts saved on my Ovi Suite, I can see them, but I can't seem to understand how to copy them on the iPhone, apart from typing one-by-one which is very very hectic and time consuming.

I've been delaying it for 3,4 months hoping there might be a bridge program available, but there isn't, or if there is, I don't know about it.

So, how do you guys transfer your contacts from Nokia to iPhone? What options do I have other than copying them one by one manually?

Get some younger brother/sister/cousin to do it manually for you.
Otherwise, I agree with Jazzy. it is not possible to do it automatically.

RB - That looks as if it'll work.

My issue is I don't have the phone now. I have them in the Ovi Suite.

Open the OVI contacts page...save page as a webpage to your desktop.
open the page file using notepad. Select all the text.
Paste into Excel...save as CSV ....import csv in itunes and sync contacts....

Copy them from n82 on ur sim

then from ur sim to iphone

if u have more than 200 contacts then repeat the process a number of times

Thanks maara. The problem is that my last sync has been with Ovi suite on my computer. Now is there a way to sync the ovi suite on my computer to ovi store on the web in order to save it as a web page?

Hussain - I've already deleted everything from the mobile and given it to my brother. Now it'll be like syncing it once again with the computer, restoring contacts, then copying them on the sim (which is already a microsim now), then doing the same process 5 times.

No when u open contacts in ovi suite there should be an option for save as webpage in the suite itself .... u can also use this nokia backup explorer to export contacts in excel .....NbuExplorer | Download NbuExplorer software for free at SourceForge.net

Nah maara, there's no such option in Ovi Suite. I'm downloading the backup explorer thank you, but I'll be stuck if I can't extract the contacts from the Ovi suite in the first place.

for backup explorer u need to locate the backup file of ovi suite in which it backup its contents ...location should be
%LocalAppData%\Nokia\
%LocalAppData%\Nokia\Nokia Data Store

copy and paste this link in ur windows explorer ...

The extension of backup file should be NBU, NFB and NFC .... try to locate it may be in nokia data or database folder ....

And if u only got db3 file than u can open it in sqlllite..... download sqllite personal edition which is free and open the db3 database in it ....

save it in .csv format...excel\File\save as.csv and u r good to go ....
