"Life is a labyrinth, the biggest puzzle in life is to find your own true inner self". On our recent Lahore to Khunjrab odyssey where we were nomads for six days and six nights, away from the obscurities of life we had the opportunity to delve deep into our own selves and test the biker soul within. During our round Lahore-Khunjrab-Lahore trip we went through mercurial rise and fall, good and bad roads, speeds ranging between 5km/h to 120km/h through traffic blockages to amazing landscapes, from city streets to vast horizons, it was a ride to cherish in the time to come. July/August is the only time in the year when I can manage to leave the city streets for some real riding. Last year I missed out on account of some unforeseen events but this year I wanted to make a memorable ride, for I knew that a time will come when I won’t remember the time I spent at work, reading through files and all that but this very journey that will leave its impressions on my mind. Thanks to Haroon aka haroon_1 who ensured his availability to join me for the ride.
We left Lahore on 29th August a hot summer day at 12:30pm and reached Abbotabad beating the heat and the merciless GT road traffic. Following has been our travel schedule for the six days journey:
Day 1: Lahore to Abbotabad
Day 2: Abbotabad to Batakundi
Day 3: Batakundi to Passu
Day 4: Passu to Khunjrab and then back to Jaglot
Day 5: Jaglot to Balakot
Day 6: Balakot to Lahore via Abbotabad, Nathiagali and Murree express highway
Haroon was riding his BMW G650GS, while I was riding my Suzuki GS500. For me it was also an endurance ride for my bike to check how gold is the old bike, Alhamdo Lillah, interestingly the bike performed beyond my expectations
