Non Stop Drive limit

I here from people that its necessary to give some rest to the car after 1-2 hours continues driving on highway but technically as long as car's cooling system works effectively it never lets the car getting heatup that what other thing needs rest??? Can anyone explain this logic??

I dont think there is much need to stop if car works fine and doesn't heat up.

Not at all.

At least not in any modern car built in 2000s,.no rest or stop needed.

Just make sure you're using a proper coolant meant for your car.

Drive it non stop. Or full tank.

Doesn't matter.

In a car that's not malfunctioning, it shouldn't overheat.

But

Humans have a physical exhaustion limit. Good idea to stretch your legs at least once if on 5+ hours drive. Single person shouldn't drive more than 7-8 hours. Sleep is needed.

In all conditions, it's a good practice to give your car a rest of an hour or so.

If cooling is working fine and coolant temperature not rising then the car can be driven continuously. I drove my City non stop from Pannu Aqil to Rawalpindi in June day time heat (+40℃) at motorway speeds without any problem. My friends regularly drive from Islamabad to Karachi non stop (Corolla Grande and Corolla 1.3) without any problem. So no real need to stop and cool the engine if there is no heating up. Just drive!

Depends on car and its age.

2000 model neglected corolla will heatup going lahore to Islamabad on motorway, while a good condition one will do trip without any issues.

Take a brand new mehran on motorway drive at 120 with ac on it will start to heat up.

Talk about a 2010-2020 corolla you can do lahore Islamabad and back while doing 180 nothing will happen.

Such advices come from people who have old neglected car needing thousands worth of work.

I have actually taken a newish mehran on a super long trip and it was used again immediately 2 more times by 2 other people for a total of 20 hours of nonstop use.

Car was ok like it should be, ac was never switched off, filled fuel with engine running too.

True on the advice part, those cars are so garbage they cannot make it out of their neighborhood, are usually an ustaad shahkaar with jalalabad, kabul and peshawar parts, ustaad mental state frozen in 1920 too

bhai jan, i have driven my 1300 car nonstop 1300 km multiple times ... no problem at all.. except for chai, bathroom and petrol breaks... koi masla nahi hota... the people who say every 1 - 2 hours...maybe they are zombies resurrected from WW1 : )

all you need to make sure is your engine is fine, does not reduce oil nor does it heat up (cooling system is okay - does not decrease water) .

One thing I'd like to remind which people do not consider much in our country is tyre type temperature ratting and condition

I dont think anyone is stupid enough to take a highway run with underinflated tires, and absolutely no car is now using bias ply tires either

Rest wont help still, you would need to top up oil

In my opinion, for a reasonably maintained car, the driver himself is the weakest link. Breaks are required to avoid driver fatigue.

Check oil level after 500kms. If I reckon then your car got more of oil leakages then reductions.

Drove 1400kms consistently in a day.
Only problem in car was redbull cans and smoke
