So... It has been quite long since I have updated this thread. Was too lazy to get the things done, take the pictures and upload them here.
Khair, the changes that my ride gone through in this duration aren't much but I have finally and finally got the steering controls operational. Damn it has been long long time since I have this steering with me and even in the car but was not hooked. Kaam latak jaain to latak hi jatay hian... I bought the HU in Ramadan and got it hooked up with the controls two days before Eid-ul-Azha.
First I had no clockspring. Thanks to Zunny Bhai I got hold of one. Then I didn't have the HU that supported the functions. I had no idea that just to have these three buttons in an iVTEC can cost you so much... :-#
So, the head unit... Most of the people here would be disappointed as after a lot of suggestions, I didn't go for the OEM CD Changer.
I bought a DVD player which is NOT Rockmars BUT is Chinese.
This is another Chinese Player which is a bit better than the Rockmars one. I have Rockmars in Corolla and I have noticed the difference between them. Now, why did I get this one? Well, I was confused as to which player should I get and quite honestly, I was looking for the some OEM Changer in good condition. I went to the guy from whom I buy this kind of stuff for my cars and he showed me this player. I said the quality of Rockmars isn't good and he explained me that this isn't Rockmars. It was a bit expensive from Rockmars as well. After seeing my confusion, he said, "Saad bhai, aap iss ko chalaain. Jab dil bhar jai ya pasand na aaya to mujhay wapis day dena aur OEM Changer lay jana". I also wanted to have the "shashka" of DVD and Reverse Camera in my car so I was double minded as well. Khair, I went for the Chinese. The guy gave me one year replacement warranty apart from his other offer. So, I was in a pretty safe condition even if the player had any problems. Got the Player for 19,500/-. This was the one without GPS. I didn't buy the one with GPS as I already have a GPS device. So the complete setup to switch on these three buttons costs around 50,000/- PKR. :-# This includes the steering, clockspring, HU, Speakers, Reverse Camera etc.
So, the system that I currently have in my car is a Chinese DVD Player, a pair of original Kenwood 618 speakers, Crunch Amplifier and a Sony Xplod sub. The amplifier and woofer are with me since long, serving me well.
The sound quality is good if not awesome. But is according to what I wanted, so I am happy with it. I am getting good sound in the car and that's it.
