Bro you are right on technical grounds...
Yet a lot of other factors play their role - condition of engine, driving speed, temperature, time of the day, traffic, plugged radiator, etc..
The fans are normal connected "directly" as the cars heat up in summer with ACs and sometimes even without ACs. The mechanics do not actuall fix the root cause and the easiest is to make the fan "direct" or sometimes extra fans. I know mechanics who installed 3 or 4 extra fans only because of this issue..
My advice:
If you have some technical knowledge about machines, engines, temperatures, then go ahead and get it fixed. If you are a complete novice then leave it the way it is running today. Changing things in old cars generally does not go very well..!!!
