Greetings, Pakwheelers! Recently, I purchased a Alto and successfully transferred it under my name. However, I've encountered an issue when attempting to obtain my issued number plate from the local excise office. According to them, someone else has already claimed it. This news has left me feeling quite upset, especially since I worked hard to earn the money for this car. Can you suggest any quick resolutions or advice on what steps I should take to rectify this situation? Thank you in advance.

No duplicate will be written on it
Same case happen with me i got my sportage registered by a third party he claimed num plates and asking 10000 from me at that time yellow num plates were given by excise i didnt know that he has my plates i thought it will be in excise so i claimed for white one today and they told me that yellow one are also issued of your car

When u register your brand new car excise issue an receipt on which its written( num plate not issued)
Because num plates take time to deliever
The person or party or showroom that registers the car keep that orignal receipt with them because you have given them the authority to register your car and delievery of num plate is there responsibility

I think this solution is correct, I also heard about this from a dealer that new white plates are issued for vehicles which already have yellow plates issued. You just have to pay the charges.

The owner is not cooperating with me, as he insists that I check the papers and number plates before buying. What would be the legal way to proceed? I am still confused about how the excise can issue plates without issuing a receipt. Everywhere is a scam how would a normal people will survive?

My car's model is white so yellow number plate concept wont work in this situation.

i would suggest you to contact a excise agent. And tell him only to get your plates issued.

let him interrogate on his level. If he says plates have been issued already then ask him you just got it transfered and your papers dont have number plates issued stamps aswell, How can they issued.

Thankyou Everyone, I went excise office then i came to know SUZUKI MOTORWAYS took my plate's i recieved them and they had around 50+ plates idk how excise can handover to them.

As much car they sale same amount of car they register for there customers who took cars from.them
Your car was one of them sold by suzuki motorways to previous owner
