Does any one know the interval of Caltex 5w40 fully synthetic engine oil?
My car is altis 1.6 and I just had my first oil change now when should I change it?

These oils should last at least 10000km. But given that our filters can't be trusted it should be changed at 10k at the most and not more. People who change fully synthetic oils at 3k are wasting their money.

Well, if we compare these 5w30 n 10w40 semisynthetics,
Which is having better protectiom at high temps???
Specs show that , 5w30 has better viscosity index and flash point and 10w40 has only higher viscosity, no other spec is better than 5w30. So which specs do better measure the protection at high temps???

Change desired due to high temperature in hot summer prefered 20W50 Havoline.

Use the grade which the owner manual recommends.
We are using SGO Oil api SG 10w-40 since day one in our suzuki cultus 2004 having odo reading of 1 lac 25 thousand km. Still engine is going strong.

My problem is previously used oil, which is zic hiflo and I think its 20-50, some one says when car converted to high viscosity don't back or makes problems.

Currently you are using zic m api sj 15w-40. Am i right.?
If you are not facing any issues with this oil then you better use this oil its good too and nearest to oem oil ratings.

Costs around 1000-1100 RS/liter.
