Aoa fellow PWers. I currently own a 2004 Honda Civic, I recently had the oil changed by my mechanic, he told me that there's some leakage, but if it drops 2-3 drops, it's not an issue. I went to my nearest Petrol Pump service station a few days ago and had the bottom of the car inspected, and he said that the leakage was coming from the chamber.
Anyhow, I had the rubber gasket changed which is applied on the top of the engine oil pan, since it was broken and even my mechanic said that its the gasket which was causing the leak. When applying the new gasket on the oil pan, I noticed that he applied some Grey RTV on the top and bottom of the gasket, but the gasket wasn't sitting flush in the U-corners, and I asked him if it'll cause any problems and he said "No". Fast forward to today, I checked the engine oil dipstick, and the oil was till the bottom mark, (But it was up till the top-marker yesterday) indicating a low engine oil level. I called him up and said that my engine is leaking again, and he advised me to refill the engine with new oil, and bring the car back so he can inspect the gasket and fix it.
Should I refill a litre of oil or should I have the gasket resealed?
