i am using Mobil 1 5W50 in my civic 1.8 and its almost 1 lac driven. and i change it on every 6000kms sometimes 7000kms, and while changing thats still good to go even for 2000kms more.
Problem & Mystery:
when for the first time i start using Mobil1 5w50 i noticed its reducing on weekly basis by a lil amount.
on 2nd time i was thinking to go for something else but to try i again filled it with Mobil15W50, it stopped reducing it, and i got relaxed. well that's one wonderful oil.
now i dont know why it was reducinmg oil for the first time.
Tips:
friends and mechanics told me that ur car must be leveled before checking its engine oil.
some told me, drive the car for 15 minutes and then let it have rest for 7 minutes and then check if the dipstick is on max level or not, some told me check it in the morning before starting the engine. and what amazes me, he said dont worry if ur dipstick showing a medium level, drive normal and after driving for some time it will be back to fine? Menu samjh ni lagi is gal di yaaar. wo din ba din kam ho raha tha. he was wrong i must say
