For 10w40 sgo (suzuki) premium api sg silver can. Around Rs 1200/3 ltr and 1600/ 4 ltr. Available at all suzuki showrooms and dealerships only

an off topic question, does the STP engine flush work well ? or kindly recommend other better engine cleaning products that would virtually cut all the sludge out of the engine.

The sludge can sometimes prevent engine leaks if the engine has been sludged up for ages. If u clean the sludge, ur seals might leak. Its better to just keep changing the oil a bit earlier than the suggested change interval

@tintin1 @omer.s @hassaniqbal92 @adspk243 Thanks guys great. I don't worry much about the seals. they are cheap to replace in a G10 engine.

Internals should be clean to avoid wear and tear so no overhauling .. I flushed my engine using STP for 10 to 15 minutes in a fast idling engine and then drained using the lower nut and then poured 10-40. Will try liqimoli next time. Also is 30% ATF mixed with engine oil .. that is 1 litre atf+2litre oil good technique for flushing engine ? @xulfiqar please comment that among STP, LiqiMoli and ATF+engine oil which one is the best technique to flush an engine ? My car is almost reaching 100K on the odo and its a carby cultus that has been run mostly on 20W50 by the previous owner

stp engine flush is good for the money.
i run it for about 20-25 mins, at idle speed.
it is always recommended to not to increase idle or revs when using an engine flush product

yes its highly critical not to increase the rpm of the engine with the flushing agent in the crankcase. btw I simply used straight kerosene added to the old crankcase oil and started for 5 minutes, it cleans a lot of junk out. If your engine has actual thick hard deposited sludge in the engine then it can also cause problems as it can dislodge it and plug up the oil pump pickup tube.

In severe sludging problem its best to open the valve cover and mechanically clean the engine with some tools to lift out the junk wash it out, remove the sump, clean it out, and also clean the oil pump pickup tube thoroughly.

If the engine has a VVTi pulley then its best to clean that out too or if worn out due to lack of lubrication then replace it.

@xulfiqar if I pour semi-synthetic 10w40 ZIC A in next oil change, how much longer can I run it with a genuine vic filter which people claim is better than OEM Suzuki guard filter. Can I run it 7K kms or more in my 2001 carby cultus (approx. 100K on the odo)

Same question I have for 5w-30 fully synthetic A+, if lets say my car accepts it and has no oil reducing issues how much longer in terms of kilometers I can run it with a good quality oil filter?

I read in your earlier posts that good oil filter and air filter are also necessary apart from a good motor oil to extend the oil change interval, so what combination of brand and grade of oil, oil filter and air filter will you recommend me for carby cultus 2001 for the maximum possible oil change interval and how long should it be? My running is 2 to 3 k kms a month and within city short trips of 15 to 20 kms and very rare long hauls.

Bro zic A+ is 5w20, not 5w30. It should not be used in a suzuki cultus, especially considering the hot weather of Karachi. U may use any 10w40 oil. Zic A is a good choice

Any 10w40 oil. options are shell helix hx5, castrol magnetic, zic A, total quartz 5000 and sgo suzuki ultimate golden box. Oil and air filter of leepon

Make sure that the following hold true:

-PCV valve and breather are clean (its a very easy DIY)
-the proper thermostat is installed and working, and the cooling fan is auto
-clean the air filter regularly
-make sure that the carb float level and mixture are perfectly set (or at least within acceptable limits)
-use a good brand oil filter only - Guard has been proven to be better than Leppon on the forums
-try not to use the car for a walking distance (extremely short trips)

If you want to increase the interval to 10k km or more, you might want to look into an oil analysis service. You can try to contact MAL or Total, I think they offer these services.

Its not about thick or thin oil..its about
SYNTHETIC..SEMI SYNTHETIC and MINERAL OIL..
Best oil is the one which suits with ur car engin.

Good post but short on logic. Shell recommends ULTRA and HX7 for new engines and HX5 and HX3 and beyond for old engines. HX3 is 20W50.
