I have a 2018 Civic X which I got last month from work, and later I have come to know that it was affected by the urban flood from 2020 rains in Karachi.
When I got the car, there was no obvious signs of this except some weird things like the wrinkling of the surface of two internal buttons (hazard and the trunk release), slightly altered horn sound, and the starter motor with a strange booming sound. In fact when I showed the car to Honda dealership for the starter motor sound, they were the ones who said there may have been water damage, and then I found out from the company.
Anyway long story short, now I want to know what should be done at this stage to check for anything that may be affected and will turn up later. Eg, any component that may be damaged by water / corrosion and will fail a bit later. I will go to Honda for the 40K km checkup and will tell them to thoroughly check for this, but are there any points I should specifically get checked? I have this car for a good 3-4 years and want to prevent any future damage that can be checked now.
Thanks in advance.
