One day picnic spots near Lahore

Hi Guys,

I am planning a picnic for my office staf (about 250 people) for which I need some help in deciding the picnic spot.

I need to know my options for the venue that are within 1.5 to 2 hours driving range from Lahore and the location should be between Lahore and Islamabad ideally.

Any quick replies will be highly appreciated.

I'll not recommend G.t Road as its Lahore Gujranwala section is Under Contruction n its condition is very bad.... so in my opinion you may Goto via Motorway to

1. Kalar Khar Lake
2. Qatas Raj Temples which is very beautifull ancient Archetecural site.... whis is almost 25 Kilometers from Kalarkhaar (Road Condition is also very Good) its Totally hilly Area....
3. Then after 5 kilometers you will reach Choa Saiden Shah which is a very beautifull small city in a small valley which have the resemblence of abbotabad from there you head toward Khewora Salta Mines Road is Good but its Like Travelling On Muree To Islamabad total Downhill of about 600 meters of Zig Zag which is very intresting n beautifull....
4. Khewra Salt Mines is your Last Visiting Place....

In last you dont to go back via Choa Saiden Shah and Qatas Raj Temples... From Khewera Salt Mines Motorways LILA interchange is almost 25 Kilometers n road condition is also good.....

That's the best outing bro, i tried this last week with family and believe me its amazing. Only 1 tip, start early from Lahore at least before 9am in the morning if you want to see all the places.

Hey OP, I have some suggestions. There is a park near kalma chowk, you can go there. And while you are at it, you should check out kalma chowk because i heard that in 2011, punjab CM will be building a nice flyover there. Also, there is a nice sheesha place near al hamra. But dont take the liberty round about. I have a feeling that in 2 years (2009), some cricket team will get attacked. Its better to be safe than sorry.
